Is he just entering the portal to keep his options open? I thought the latest news was that he was going to go pro whether it be NBA or overseas.

Maybe he discovered a way to make money in college without going pro. Just sayin’...

Aaa-ha!

Got some (former) guys on this team that were tired of hearing about their boys $10k/month allowances. I don’t blame them honestly. If I could get paid to play with no risk from the ncaa I wouldn’t turn it down. This is what the ncaa created by not enforcing its own rules. They are useless.

I'm waiting on word for Macauley Culkin to declare for the draft.

If he stays in college, I"m going to be sorry to see him play anywhere but OU. He was such fun to watch when he was on his game and he improved season to season. I'd love to have seen what he could do at OU under Coach Moser.

I don't get why players can still enter the transfer portal after declaring for the draft. I kinda think they should be allowed to do one or the other but not both.

Weird. He said he wasn’t coming back. He said he was going pro, wherever in the world he could get paid to play ball. So, I guess that means transferring to another school that pays players? SEC, KU, texas, ACC, everywhere except OU.

Nah, I think he's just hedging his bets. Wants to go pro, but what happens if he doesn't get a contract that can support his family? He needs to go back somewhere and complete his degree. Moser can't afford to wait on him until July.

The Transfer Portal has essentially turned into one of them Facebook games. Answer these 5 questions to see what kind of “Heavy Metal” band you represent!!

I mean it’s practically like setting up a Match.com profile to see how many “offers” you get?! It’s a joke!

It allows the player to test the NBA without losing eligibility to come back to college if they find out they are not going to be drafted where they want. Also doesn’t restrict the university from having to honor the scholarship on the player declaring. Win win to me.

This all started in the 90s when jumping from HS to NBA was the trend and eventually the NBA and NCAA agreed that direct from HS to NBA was not helping most players who were losing college eligibility and not being drafted. So they made the one and done rule. Then later amended the rule to add this one time per player declare + don’t hire an agent = still have eligibility in college.

This is the correct answer.

OU knew he was leaving, and was fine with that. He still wants to go pro, but with Covid impacting overseas leagues, he’s entering the portal to see who will reach out to him, in case he can’t play professionally this year.

Is the door closed at OU, or is he just intent upon going elsewhere, if he doesn't go pro?

He probably wants more playing time, especially since his eligibility is close to expiring, and that is likely one of the motivating factors for him to leave.

Mutual. New style doesn’t fit him, and we’ve already filled the center role with Groves, so there’s no much of a need for him here. He was leaving here anyways to get more playing time.

Good luck to the guy. I think kruger used him in a peculiar manner based on his ability i saw in games IMO.

I agree with this. I think Lon got caught in a situation where he wanted Brady to shake out of his funk vs. playing the hot hand. Kuath was a game changer defensively at times and offensively he gave us quite a bit in limited minutes. He wasn't going to be an all conference player, but he could have been Jabahri Brown.
