Lauren Cox

Lauren Cox will take the floor for the Flower Mound (Texas) High girls basketball team Friday night as it opens district play at Plano East.
Saturday morning, the 6-foot-4 junior post player and top-ranked recruit in the Class of 2016 will head here to take in the UConn-Notre Dame game as part of an unofficial visit.

Good visit at Notre Dame this weekend😌🍀🏀

A Dallas Morning News article on Lauren:
http://www.dallasnews.com/sports/hi...ry-and-even-lebron-james-is-taking-notice.ece

Included in the article is this:
"First, Dennis gave Lauren a packet of all 351 Division I basketball schools. Lauren circled the schools she was interested in and crossed out the others. The family contacted every school to inform them of Lauren’s list of 29 schools.

Coaches were asked to call or text only during a two-hour window on weeknights, a several-hour period on weekends and never on game days.

Between Sept. 9 and 29, NCAA rules allowed for coaches to have direct contact with recruits and parents on high school campuses. The Cox family did not want any of the visits to occur on volleyball game days, which left 11 school days.

Nelson arranged for 20 coaches to come to the Flower Mound campus to visit with Cox and her parents during those 11 days, making sure there were no more than three in one day.

Lauren said that following that process, her list of schools has been whittled to 17, though the family is emphatic about not mentioning specific schools or a timetable for making a decision."

So I don't think anyone knows the exact list...as best as I can tell OU should be still in it.

Thanks... and I agree, I think she could have reasons why she would pick OU, so I hope we are in her final 17. Rumor that she and her family are Baptist.

FYI
Non of those three from 2016 DfW area will pick Baylor..From what I hear from the area all three looking at Texas and others school outside of texas. Texas would be the only school in texas they would choose. That what coaches are saying!

I think getting an elite player like Cox or Holmes is critical in being able to keep up with Texas and Baylor. We have Llanusa and Mulkey coming and if we can add a great PF, it will go a long way toward making us competitive with the best teams in the conference. The converse is also true. If we don't sign an elite player like Cox or Holmes, I think we will fight for 3rd place for the next few years and any hope of a NC will be nothing but a dream.

If either of those girls go to Texas, I predict the Horns will win a NC by 2018.

Texas has advanced to the final four (held in OKC) in volleyball. That certainly doesn't hurt Texas' chances in Lauren's recruitment.

I can't see Cox doing both in college... Even thought since she is a fan, having a winning team to see live won't hurt there chances.

Cox will be visiting Louisville in the near future.

Texas got beat tonight in volleyball so their season is over. At least they can't claim a NC in that sport and try to use that to lure Lauren to Austin.

If she does. She has a greater risk at an injury. Which could hurt her chances of playing professionally or to her full potential in college.

Is it true that Texas can now offer an extra 5,000 dollars to the student athletes ?
