Looks like Kentucky stud frosh is out...

Man, how did Cal not know that his recruit was making six figures in Turkey?

Who says he didn't? Maybe he just thought that the NCAA wouldn't find out.

"He went to Kentucky because he was looking for a raise. "
Har,Har!!!

I would think there should be some penalty for Cal/Kentucky for knowingly signing a pro basketball player.

Maybe Cal shouldn't have listened to Max Ergul.

"They paid the necessary expenses, like any other kid who goes to prep school and gets the $30- or $40,000 scholarship," Ergul told the Times. "I think that's the truth."

Didn't realize that prep school give $6500 a month in walkin' around money.

ergul is right. if the situation is as described, there is little, if any, material difference between kanter and the average american recruit from an elite prep school.

As if we needed more proof that Calipari is a complete scumbag. I have a feeling his arrogance is eventually going to get UK on a USC football-type probation.

Wait. This isn't allowed ? I thought to attend UK the minimum appearance fee started at 6 figures ?

College basketball (and football) is notorious for having coaches akin to sleazy used car salesmen who would trade their mother's tombstone for talent. Even in that type of atmosphere, Cal stands out as exceptionally unscrupulous and craps on whatever rule he wants either by flaunting the spirit of the law or breaking it outright. I have to say it is impressive how much he learned from watching cockroaches survive, and impressive how pathetic the NCAA is that they can't ever bust him for anything.

Man nothing surprises me anymore about the crap going on in men's basketball.
