Louisville!

So when they called that girl from Louisville for the charge why wasn't the basket good? Have they changed the rule that if the ball leaves your hand before the contact the basket counts?

That is correct, doesn't matter the basket is called off in offensive foul situations. In the old days if the basket counted, you got two free throws at the other end for taking the charge if the basket counted, now it is called off and you get the ball out of bounds. I can't remember when the rule was changed.

I'm far from an expert on the rules. I figured it had to be correct because it wasn't even close. And of course Waco Becca didn't bring it up on the telecast either. I guess I'm old school. Everything looks like walking and double dribble to me.

KC - I'm with you. Since when has tucking the ball under your arm and running 4 steps before you shoot it become legal? Or doing a little jitterbug dance before you launch a 3? If I'm the ref I'm going to call travel. It all started with the NBA and then filtered down to the men's and women's college games. It ain't basketball, it's rugby.

SMH at Kim Mulkey. In the part of the press conference I saw, she never once credited Louisville. They just outplayed you, and Jeff Walz DEFINITELY outcoached you. See ya!

Was there ever a doubt that she wouldn't give credit where credit is due? That's not the Mulkey MO.

I'm sure she also steaming that at least a few OU fans stuck around to root for Louisville. But it's not like she should be surprised either, and not just because of her own non-class. I never saw it, but I've read lots of internet posts that said Griner threw an elbow on Joanna McFarland a couple of years ago just to intimidate as they were both running down the court to the other end.

Yep, NM that was a televised game. After a Baylor basket, OU was inbounding the ball, Jo and Griner were running together at mid-court and Griner just pops Jo up the side of her head with an elbow and runs on past her. No call.

Of course no call, she doesn't foul!

Except to cost them a national championship:ez-laugh:

was this before or after many Baylor fans were rooting for Tenn? Oh that's right - it was AFTER

:ez-roll:

(Note: I was referencing a friend who was at the game and was sitting close to the Tenn rooting BUites - not a personal observation but one I trust)
