Some have said that McKenna should be getting more minutes at the PF position. I'm curious to hear more of what you think of her strengths and weaknesses and how she would help the team. Honestly, I don't have an opinion one way or the other as she hasn't gotten much playing time.

One thing I have noticed about Treece is, she is active. She moves well without the ball and she plays hard.

She does that, but her lack of experience keeps her from moving effectively much of the time. The only two people who move with some anticipation are Payton and Maddie.

McKenna is kind of an X-factor for this team. Every time she goes in, it seems some thing good happens. Last night I watched her run the floor and get ahead of the defense for a nice catch and good lay up. She adds some things that Kaylon or ViVi can't do. She has good range, can rebound, but still needs more game time to settle in defensively as well as move with out the ball. Her upside is fantastic, I wish she could get more minutes. She can be a nightmare for the defense once she is able to put every thing together, and she is close.

At this point, she is the second string quarterback in high demand when the team loses. I have seen enough to know only that she has potential. I have also seen successive possessions where she got the rebound only to have it stripped from her hands---cast or weakness? The player she guards does seem to have free reign. Let's see what happens in January and February.

IMO, Treese is the second best player on the team, behind KK. I would start her at the 4. I would move maddie off of the high post on offense, and start her at one of the wings.

My starting lineup would be KK/5, treese/4, maddie/3, (unsure)/2 and Ortiz/1.

The board tends to get negative after a loss, but for me, like after the North Texas loss. I see talent and I like the plan. We didn't execute like we need to for the entire game and lost. I think yesterday will be a real learning experience for the kids and grow from it. I think we are fine.

We will lose some games -- nobody thought this was "great" team that would go undefeated. But, I think we will be a tough out by March, with not a lot of teams wanting to play us.

Biggest concern I have right now is Peyton just doesn't look like herself. She is a good player that just isn't playing that well right now. so, what do you do? Sherri is trying to play her back into form. Might work, might not.

You're right! And she's only be playing for 2 or 3 weeks in games? McKenna has a big upside and will continue to improve IMO. She gives us another weapon on the team.

This team was 5-5 on Dec 21, 2014 and most, myself included, thought the NCAA tourney run would end last year. It didn't. The team improved significantly after the new year. We're 9-2 on Dec 21, 2015 with a lot more promise than we thought we had last year. We're also missing an important cog (Gioya) in this team this year. I'm not sure when Gioya will return but when she does, it will be slow going for someone who hasn't been on the court in probably a few months. I thought yesterday in the 2nd quarter we looked as good as anyone, not named UConn and then in the 3rd quarter, we were equally as bad. Consistency is something we'll have to gain in the next few weeks to get to where we want to be and I expect us to be better.

If Texas is #4, the way they played yesterday against Arkansas (Arkansas is not a good team as they lost to TULSA at home!) then there are about 20 teams tied for #3! I don't hear anyone saying how Karen and the whorns are finished! This was one game and learning experience. We had 4 LESS turnovers than a&m! Their PG Jones had 6 turnovers by herself! I think by the end of the year, this team will be much improved!

We had the least amount of turnovers of any of the 4 teams yesterday and the whorns had the most (21). I think we'll be fine.

Great post!

A couple of weeks ago, Texas scored zero points in the third quarter against powerful UALR.

Zero.

Can you imagine this board if OU had done that? We get blasted for a bad half against A&M.
