Midwest City is still alive and the only obstacle in its way is a conference rival.
The 15th-ranked Bombers routed No. 8 Norman 54-32 to advance to Saturday’s area tournament consolation championship game against defending champion Choctaw.
It’s the third time the two teams have met this season. Choctaw, winner of the Big 10 Conference, won both matchups.
“We’ve just got to go out there with more intensity,” Midwest City coach Katie Tompson said. “I feel like by now we should know what they’re doing, but at the same time we’ve got to play our own game.”
Against Norman, Kennedi Grant scored 14 points, including eight in a big second half.
“If we lose we’re done, and we’re not done,” Grant said.
