Had M'Baye actually "blocked out", he likely would have been in a position that wouldn't have allowed himself to get "pushed." One of the reasons we rebound so poorly.....nobody wants to put a body on anybody these days. They just want to out-jump them. That isn't good, fundamental, rebounding.

Syracuse missed 10 of 24 free throws, led by as many as 15, never trailed by more than 4 and won by 9 on the road. Hardly a nail biter. Arkansas is the epitome of mediocre at 3-3 which includes a 15 point loss to Arizona St.

He was going up for the put back which he would have gotten if he wasn't shoved. You can't block out while elevating for a put back.

I don't like blaming any one call for a loss in basketball. There are enough plays, and chances to impact the game, as well as other missed calls, that one play isn't the difference. I'm sure there was a foul on OU that wasn't called earlier in the game, that could have resulted in 2 more Arky points.

When you turn the ball over 17 times, and let the other team shoot over 52% from the field, you had more problems than one missed call.

As I said in my earlier post, it's not the call itself, it's the timing of the call. If a call like this had been blown earlier in the game, it's not a big deal and teams can overcome them. When they come in the final moments of a game, they are game changers. I don't think that anyone wants touch fouls called in the last moments of a game, but as the pictures show, this wasn't a touch foul.

I am usually not one to rag on officiating, but you have to call that one. Clear advantage taken away.

Osby had a good shot but with the time on the clock he should have penetrated or stopped for a 5-8' closer shot. A 19' jumper is not Romero's forte. A 12' jumper or penetration to the basket is besides both create a better opportunity to be fouled will burning a couple or three more seconds off of the clock.

I agree that Osby will be hard to replace, but you're saying we can't replace Fitzgerald's stat line:

20 minutes per game
7 points
3 rebounds
40% FG
43% from the free throw line

Not to mention his lack of athleticism and size is a defensive liability. I like Fitzgerald a lot, but we've got two players who can replace his impact sitting on the bench in Spangler and Bennett, not to mention our two new post recruits.

I was more talking about the guy whos stats were

28 mpg
12 ppg
5 rpg
47% FG
73% FT

Also the same guy that played Arkansas last year and had
17 pts
23 mins
8 rebs
and the team won 78-63

and this year had
4 pts
14 mins
1 reb
and the team lost 78 - 81

You don't even know the definition of a nail biter I guess. it's ok to be ignorant
