Indeed. Paige was leading Oregon 6-0 after three, sailing along. Oregon's Udria led off the fourth with a line drive off Paige's eye. Suddenly, Oregon scored six runs in the fourth on their way to an 8-7 eight-inning win over Missouri on February 27.
In her next outing, Michigan had seven walks and six hits for eleven earned runs off of Paige in three innings. Prior to this, she had not walked more than two in a game. A day later, she walked four in beating Cal. The following day, she walked three while beating Baylor.
She, then, walked five in beating Mississippi, and she walked four in a win over NM State. She walked seven while beating Alabama and six in losing to Tennessee. The tendency to walk a lot of hitters continued until just before the tournaments. She shut out South Carolina with only two walks.
In tournament play, she walked only one while losing to South Carolina in the SEC. She started all three games of the Regionals against BYU, Nebraska, and Nebraska, walking 2, 2, and 0 while shutting all three out.
Then, Michigan got to her again in the Super-Regionals. She walked 3 and 1 in her two starts against Michigan, losing both by allowing five runs. That really isn't that bad considering Michigan's hitting.
But, she had not allowed more than two walks prior to the injury, and she seemed to clean it up at the end of the year.
