Gasso has stocked the OU roster with potential stars and with commitments of the same for the next two years. I think we are in for an OU dynasty in softball.
What do the girls do during these winter months? How can they practice? Where? Can they use the football indoor field? I cant imagine that they just sit around for 4 or 5 months.

I'm sure they are having conditioning workouts and I would be shocked if they don't have indoor batting cages to take batting practice.

I'm sure that they are working on conditioning and hitting.

I was planning to go to one of the big spring track meets one day (I think the Jacobs meet). it was raining near typhoon force so all of the track teams were holed up in a large building near the track.

I went in and the softball team was working in a hitting cage setup in that building. The interesting thing was that the coach was instructing the hitters to swing and miss about every 5 pitches. I had never seen that but I guess it was to increase the concentration on watching the ball. You really have to to swing and miss.

Don't know about anyone else, but I'm pumped and ready for the 2015 to get underway.

The softball team has an indoor facility. It has four batting cages and a dirt infield. They work out year round in this facility.

A recent addition to the facility was a 6,020 square foot indoor facility opened in January 2009. The indoor facility features a 65' x 65' infield with Hilltopper infield dirt and storage for the team and grounds crew. The infield also accommodates four hitting lanes.

If the team can get coached up on defense they will be a force to be reckoned with.

I'll bet the staff and team were ecstatic about that. I hadnt heard an announcement. SoonertSports isnt doing the softball program justice. Theirt coverage is poor and I've complained to Mossman(who is a good guy.)
Why dont you guys e-mail SoonerSports and complain?

What does the pitching look like? That's the area that needed to get better. Last year with LoJack. i'm hoping for a monster year for her. #stayhealthy

Also Gasso now has two tweets under her belt. @GassoPatty

What's the rest of the citation for Gasso's tweets? I'd never figure it out however simple.

KCRuf/Nek,

Have you heard of Paige Parker from Independence, MO? She is the real deal at P - hard throwing lefty. They also have Kelsey Stevens back. As for LoJack, she will be fine, however, Shelby Pendley is a workout machine. I expect her to push LoJack on homers.

Is she at OU now? I hadn't heard of her here. I used to coach tournament softball but haven't paid much attention for a bit. If she got on at OU she must be pretty good.

I'm sure Shelby will do very well. I'm just ready for a healthy LC with a full season under her belt.

Yes, she is at OU. Pretty good is an understatement. She is a 3 Time Missouri Gatorade Player of the Year and she beat Team Japan as a 16 year old. She hits 70+ on the radar gun from the left side.
