Muffet says cheating going on in women's basketball. This is total speculation not based on any facts but I think the Kevin McGuff coaching tree of him, Mike Neighbors and Adia Barnes are very suspicious...all took or are taking traditionally bad programs and turned them into recruiting powerhouses too quickly.

She also may be referring to the witch of Wacko. She was pretty upset about Hypocrite U going on probation right after beating the Irish in the final. Wouldn't surprise me to find out that Jeff Walz was involved either. Probably not as widespread as in men's game and not as much money involved but I agree with Muffett.

Isn't there more than just a suspicion with Mulkey? When you have an entire group of six from an AAU team go to Baylor, that's suspicious. Then, as I understand, that coach had a job with Baylor for a while? That seemed to be the implication of Voepel and Jenkins.

I would think Walz might be a suspect, as well as the Kentucky coach. Who else has risen to the top----Staley. Somehow, I think Staley does it on her own. Workaholic wherever she has been.

Yeah, the former AAU coach at Hypocrite U was relieved of his duties after all his players graduated.

It will be interesting to see if any of this bleeds onto the women's side.

It's not uncommon for coaches to make hires for advantages, I think your talking about Damion McKinney? If a AAU coach could help the teams recruiting improve, I would be all for Sherri bring that person on to the staff...

Also Mulkey had a daughter on the AAU team in question, can you blame her sitting and getting to know the other kids parents?

The objection that Voepel and Jenkins had to that scenario are exactly what Muffet is pointing out. Voepel and Jenkins abhorred what Mulkey had done as a part of a slope that would result in the relatively clean women's sport becoming more like that of the men's.

Wasn't it just a bit too convenient that so many prospects in which Kim was interested showed up on the same team?

Wasn't it a bit too convenient that her daughter just happened to be on that team where Kim had an excuse to sit with the parents of her prospects?

Wasn't it a bit too convenient that the person coaching them ended up on Kim's staff?

If you look at any AAU team, you will see a lot of prospects going to different schools. Not every good prospect, or nearly every one, is going to the same school.

Voepel and Jenkins had the opinion that most coaches would have honored the spirit of the rule by not sitting with the parents of the prospects, knowing how it looked.

A bit too convenient.

Where is Damion McKinney now? Did he move on to another D1 assistants job or to be a head coach somewhere? I would hope that if Sherri brought an AAU coach onboard he would be someone who could genuinely help the whole team, not just someone who gives OU a foot in the door on certain recruits.
