Mulkey Named Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame Finalist

Love her or loathe her, she deserves to be selected. So do Lobo, Muffet, and the WBU team.
 
Pete Rose and Frank McGwire are not in the Pro Baseball Hall of Fame, If professionals exclude on less than positive images, should college not be as selective?

I see a coach who's players would run through a wall if she asked her team to do so... that to me says she's not such a bad person as is made out to be

There was a coach in Iowa who had his players bite the heads off of frogs and chickens. They did it. Didn't exhibit character.

I'm not so sure. In the BU game the other night something on the court made KM furious, then when Wallace got close to the sidelines, KM rushed out to meet her and clearly screamed at her in fury. Then you saw an interchange between Kristy Wallace and KM that was very heated. Wallace gave her a look that certainly appeared a long ways from respectful - and marched away with an appearance of real anger.

Made me wonder what may be going on down there.

Agreed. Some of players may be getting tired of her shtick.

I believe every thing she does is for Kim! I sure hope whorn's sweep her! Hopefully knock them out of OKC regional.
 
I noticed that same incident about Wallace.....I also noticed when Kim was in Wallace's face, another girl on the team pulled Wallace away from Kim.
 
I think Frank McGuire was a top notch mens basketball coach at South Carolina back in the day. May have coached other places also.
 
I can't imagine a coach yelling at a player....boy that never happens!

A Baylor fan would think so. It is about teaching. Or, is it? This is supposedly an academic institution, not a pro league.

I see it as the main purpose of a coach is to coach/teach their sport.. I wonder how much trigonometry Geno teaches. Give the lady her due..You don't have to like her but how can anyone say she isn't at least a good coach

She might be a great pro coach. She doesn't belong in college. Even in DFW, there are highschool coaches who were extremely successful who were fired over behavior. Add a few recruiting violations, and you should question whether that is what you want to represent you in the Hall of Fame.

Okay, so should we try and get Barry Switzer removed from the HOF ? Doesn't matter I guess when you hate someone or something as much as some do on here with baylor and KM..results just doesn't matter
 
Excluding ethics (just to avoid argument) Kim is clearly the best women's college coach not named Geno.

Negatives would be the rules violations which helped her build her dynasty, the us against the world mentality she fosters in her team, her habit of trashing opposing players, and the ill feeling between her and her most famous alum.

The Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame is not a college hall of fame.

Really? It's obviously an "academic institution" but I'm sure that the powers that be (JC, Boren) are expecting lessons to be taught along with budgets met. SURELY that's the way the NCAA sees it.

There is an academic component in place...GO TO CLASS AND GET A DEGREE. Coaching clearly includes a teaching component as well, however, development of the players of the years is questionable in my opinion. They may have 100% for reading team books, community service and writing in journals, and that's all fine...a great tool. But it would be nice to see the same results on the court.
