it has only been a few games, but here is my depth chart:

At the 5: KK, Nicole, Kellogg and then Durrett
At the 4: Kornet, Campbell, gibbs
At the wing: AE, Campbell, Hook, Carter, Wyatt
At the point: Hook, TE, AE

Notes: Yes Norm, I have changed my mind. I now think KK is our best center, although I think we need both and don't have a problem starting Nicole. I would still start Kornet over Carter. Kornet is just have a confidence problem, which happens sometimes when your shot isn't falling. Long term, I still like her size and skill set best among our players for the 4.

Hook is the point, and so I would play Carter first off of the bench on the wing. But, if TE is at the point, I would still rather have Mo on the wing than Carter. Although, Carter is coming on big time and I might revise this depth chart later in the season. Carter is a good one.

My starting lineup right now would be KK, Kornet, AE, Sharane and Mo. My 6th man would be carter. I would give TE minutes in both halves at the point, and play Nicole big minutes at the 5.

If it is the last play of the game and we have to have a basket, I would have AE, MO, Carter, Wyatt and KK in the game. If we needed a 3, I would have the same group, except Kornet for KK.

What is your depth chart?

I agree on Kornet. I think she's looked pretty good in all respects except her shots going in the basket.

5: I still think Griffin is far ahead of Kay Kay on defense, and that is the last line of defense. She can match Kay Kay on offense if reminded. Beat her last night. Kellogg and Gibbs are 4s, but they are what we have. Both may be better rebounders than Griffin and Kay Kay. I agree that Gibbs may come on faster than we think. Derica wasn't bad at getting it to Griffin.

4 Kornet: for now. She is still the best we have at the other aspects of the game, and she can get us some points. Kellogg is becoming a threat if she can just look to the basket. Gibbs may be forced to play the five this year.

3. Sharane: I like Sharane at the three under any circumstances. Until last night, she had made herself into what I wanted, someone who could get into the middle from outside. It would be nice if she can regain her stroke. Carter has offensive playmaker skills, but is still as likely to foul up as to be the star.

2. Vegas: Obvious. If Derica can do what she did last night, she becomes the shooter from outside when Vegas is resting. Carter can do the job, but she does need to learn not to turn it over. Derica also did a good job of feeding people, but she didn't get fed back except by Edwards.

1. Morgan: Do we have to have Edwards on the floor to feed Derica? Lot of difference between TT and Morgan, and Morgan should be healed. Edwards is good for moments, and now we know how to transform what had been some dry offensive moments into points---bring Derica in with her.

Cowboy, your depth chart looks good to me. It's still only 5 games into the season. I think there might be some changes by the time January rolls around. I think Nicole G will get better. Last year, even though vastly improved, that improvement didn't really show up for a while. Same with Joanna, after Whitney went down with her injury, she took her game up 2 or 3 notches. KayKay will get better too. Nicole K, last year, really didn't play all that much until late in the year. She's vastly improved now in her overall game but I think the more she's on the court the more she will improve and the more the shot will come back. Took it a long while to comeback last year. I feel the same about Gioya and T'ona. I don't know that we're ever going to get a whole lot of point production from T'ona but she's going to get better and better doing everything else. Gioya can pretty much do it all but she's going to get more comfortable and I think be a better scorer than she is now. I think Shaya looks way better to me than Joanna did as a freshman and I can't wait until she gets comfortable on the court.

You need to revisit this thread about the first week of January because I see the potential for some changes from where it is now.

I was very excited by Derica's play last night but I'm still going to have to see her produce against a much more competitive team. If she can hit 2, 3, 4 or more threes against UCLA, Duke, Hypocrite U, osu, texas, Iowa State, then I'll be sold. I think she'll definitely produce in more competitive games, I'm just not sure she'll be able to THIS year.

Kay Kay has had so little time on the court in games that it's not fair to compare her to Nicole. However, she is a MUCH better player, better hands, better shot, better athlete, more aggressive on offense and defense.
she is just inexperienced, much more inexperienced.
Nicole has worked to get better and has done so ,,,, at times. She has a hard time to consistently block out, to rebound as well as she certainly should.

Cowboy, that is a good list. I guess my only change might be to play Carter at the 3 and Sharane at the 4 until Kornet's shot returns but, your list is good too.

I don't think there is any doubt Kaylon is the best center we have. My frustration with her is the fouls. If I were the coach, she would be running laps for every foul she committed during practice. Fouls would be curtailed dramatically or she would be ready for the next New York City marathon.

That shows if Kaylon could limit her fouls, she would get more minutes giving her more points and rebounds.
