KK, Little, Manning and Gabbi looked like our 4 best players. Still, not sure what Sherri is going to do with that 5th spot. I still think we are missing a true 4 (power forward). I like kids like Amanda Thompson at that position, and I don't see anyone like her on the team. So, I think we will probably just use a one in and 4 out scheme again this year. Maybe Manning can do it, but I'm not sure.

Even if Manning can play the 4, I don't know who I like as the 5th starter. Might be a committee situation.

Last year we didn't have a decent point guard early in the year and then by years end, Gabbi was doing a good job. T Edwards wasn't ready at all. Now, they both look good and ready to run the team. TE is the most improved player on the team in my eyes. I see Gabbi and TE as almost interchangeable. So, I think we will be much better this year at the point.

KK, VIVI, and EJ look similar and play similar to me. All three looked pretty good. Throw in Treese, and I think we will be really deep and solid in the paint this year.

Maddie and Peyton will be good on the wings. Just not sure what we will get from the others. Penzo is interesting and it will be interesting to see how she develops. She has a little something about her -- a competitiveness or something.

Finally, I would feel better is Gioya was health and able to take that 5th spot, but it sounds like (from Mr. Carter) that she may not come back this year.

I have to disagree. I think there is a world of difference between Gabbi and T'ona.

I agree, Norm (and that's not a knock on Edwards; Gabbi is simply one of the best point guards in the league).

Yes, I'm glad we have T'ona too. Gabbi is definitely one of the top PGs in the league and is making a name for herself nationally.

If you were just to take the performances of Gabbi and T'Ona in just this one scrimmage, you could easily come away with the impression that there is no difference, or that it is small. Gabbi was off on her shot. T'Ona shot pretty well. They both did other things somewhat the same.

Now, beyond this scrimmage is a different matter. T'Ona is a nice back-up.

I agree with most of you about TT and Gabbi. But I am glad to see so much improvement in TT's game.

I thought the most impressive thing about Maddie is how incredibly smooth she looks. She just seems to float down the court. Even when she is going full speed. Very, very smooth - almost seems effortless. I believe she will become one of the very best players in the conference before all is said and done.

Agree on Madies's smoothness. She plays with such ease even when she pushes. Reminds me of the smoothness and ease of Sam. And she has FUN when she plays.

T'ona and Gabbi are similar in that they are both effective point guards. Gabbi brings more to the table in outside shooting, and appears to have a big lead in leadership and floor awareness. We have two really good point guards, and both will help the team this year.

my take--

TT is the most improved player I think I have ever seen in any sport, at any level. This is night and day. I can't believe how much better she is.

Maddie is a star in the making. Missed a lot of easy shots, but just looks like a stud and she just seems to ooze confidence now. I think she is going to have an unbelievable season.

Peyton and Maddie play off each other so well. Perfect fit together. Peyton is Petyon- tough and unbelievably consistent.

Another player I was pretty impressed with was Shay. She might not be a great offensive player, but she's a good sized body w pretty good feet and Fights. You see her always talking, and being an emotional leader. We really need that- Toughness and some athleticism.

Gabbi played solid. Sometimes when we're tired tho, I think pushes too fast and breaks the Flow. Gabbi has the best motor by far, and she plays relentlessly. But when you push ahead of your offense, great outcomes are hard to come by. Love the grit and hustle but sometimes she needs to reel it in think and set the best pace.

Love the depth of our Bigs. We struggled with that last year cause KK gets gassed easy, and playing at our pace who can blame her. I think Vivi and Ej are great athletes, and they play tough too. We don't have any soft big players, we can set the tone by being the more physical that teams now.

Overall, the ball moves well. We have some really improved players. I think we have a full team of good players a couple really goods one and possibly one great one- who compete everyday and it shows in how physically tough they are playing this year. Depth will be a nice strength this year, and I think athleticism will be a strength this year, w or w/o Gioya. I really, really like this team.
