You may be 6-4, but even 6-4 girls are hesitant to go up against 6-4 girls at times. Faced with someone 6-9 or 6-10, they may be very reluctant to shoot. That may, in itself, give us control of the lane.

At 6-9, she ought to be very effective at drawing attention, leaving someone free under the basket for layups and rebounds. If she can consistently hit a ten-footer, which they seem to be trying to have her develop, we should have the boards all to ourselves.

She may sometimes be like the cornerback who never intercepts a pass because nobody will throw at him.

IF Cox signs with OU, the obvious question is, which posts will likely leave after seeing the handwriting on the wall with Nancy and Lauren in the lineup.

Spot on post, I expect Mulkey to block shots as soon as she starts her young career at OU, right now she needs to get strong and he back to the basket game needs to improve, smaller thicker girls can push her off the block. I'd also add if we don't get Cox, the more I read about Holmes the more I like. She has good size and could end up as a 6'3 guards, a front line of Holmes, Odimbge, and Mulkey would be something to see.

At this point, we have Nancy for two years with Vivi and McKenna, both of whom I anticipate will be pretty good, along with Ijeoma. I'm looking more toward a replacement for Vivi and McKenna when she is a junior. But, my concern is really out front.

With Nancy, I pretty much have a post that can run and in-and-out passing game with not a lot of interference. I'm looking for who would be the most effective on that "out" part. I want a bunch of shooters who can play perimeter defense. It would be nice to have someone who can drive the lane on the other side of a double-teamed Nancy. I would be more interested in getting about three or four guards like Maddie or Gioya who can handle the ball, score from anywhere, and drive. With Ijeoma and Nancy inside, we really don't need super forwards as much as super guards.

Since it is rare, I would like for Nancy to develop a Bill Russell style of shot blocking, keeping the ball in play and passing out to our guards on a break. I get tired of shot blockers who think its cool to put the ball in the stands, giving the opposition the ball back and then they drill a 3. So far I really like what I see.

In every video I have seen, I don't think she has swatted one out. She seems to keep it very close as opposed to swatting it.

You add Cox to the mix and I think Sherri could actually play two Bigs all the time.
Then you have 5 players for 2 spots.
That's less of an issue.

Her High School team is Pretty good and ranked nationally with A few other D1 prospects and signee's. That's a decent average seeing how she has a good amount of talent around her. Although Being 6'9 I would expect more also.

Honestly, I would expect more points than that just on offensive rebounds and put backs.

From the game-type videos, has anyone come close to stopping her from scoring? Is she playing the entire game during these routs? I got the impression that they don't have her shooting layups. She is taking threes, won a game with one in Nike. They have the offensive tools to score from several places with three other D-1 prospects, two of which have signed already with Pepperdine and Tulsa. The interviews with Ogwumike are somewhat revealing in that they indicate how they are using Nancy, to intimidate. They have won their last ten games 67.8 to 32.0. Teams are scoring 16, 24, etc.

She looks like she could be pretty good!

Playing alongside Sedona Prince on the Cy-Fair club team was 2018 forward Catherine Reese. Standing 6-1, she’s active, physical and has a very, very promising game. Reese may be one of those elusive “true 4’s” that nobody actually wants to be but are in such great demand at the next level. There is some ballhandling there but not to the tune of calling her a wing anytime soon. One asset she has that few in ANY class possess is the ability to cut effectively on the interior. Her movement without the ball set up shot after shot for her and created havoc for opposing defenses. And it’s not just where she goes…its how hard she goes. She finished by the rim but had some mid-range moments and even showed off a short baseline fall away. The Cypress Wood High School product is willing to play physical and it makes her productive on the defensive end as well as the glass. Very bright future.
