NCAA gets rid of RPI as factor in tournament selection

Good find, thanks for sharing! Note that just like the past couple years, late-season games don't get any more weight than early-season games. I'm a little surprised they cap the margin at 10 points, I'd personally make it a little higher but that's not a big deal.

I don't like that they consider a November win the same. If your team tanks over the last 10-15 games you shouldn't be in the tournament, regardless of who you beat in December.

So you think they are lying? The article couldn't make it any clearer, and the selections over the past two or three years back this up. If what are you are trying to say is that in your opinion a November win shouldn't count as much, you are perfectly entitled to that view. But I just can't understand why so many people on this board insist that the committee is lying about their criteria. The only reason OU made the tourney last season is because the committee clearly stood by what they said -- the date a game is played is irrelevant.

There will be just as much consternation, complaining and dismay over the results generated by this system, as we suffered through under the old system. I can already hear the March 2019 demoralized despair from Jay Bilas, Dick Vitale, Bill Raftery, Fran Fraschilla and Doug Gottlieb. It has been the same sanctimonious drivel, ... year, after year, after year. That is why they get paid the big bucks.

Thank goodness for the mute button.

What you talking about, Willis?

No, I don't think they are lying. I am just saying that my opinion on the November win shouldn't count as much given certain scenarios, such as your team tanking at the end of the year.

100% my bad, I misread the first sentence of your previous post! :facepalm

Most recent may not affect in or out, but I guarantee it affects seeding.
