NCAA to notify Frank Haith of allegations

In case anyone hasn't followed the story of the recently fired investigator, apparently she was fired after her boyfriend publicly bragged that she would ensure Shabazz Mohammad (a kansas recruit who decided to sign elsewhere) would never play for UCLA.

She also worked in the ku compliance department during the "compliance doesn't sell tickets" era.

And apparently they had Nevin Shapiro (ponzi scheme felon turned Miami whistleblower) 's lawyer on their payroll during the investigation.

This somehow doesn't surprise me from the NCAA.

Wait, she was the same investigator leading the Miami investigation? I could have sworn she got let go after the embarrassing Shabazz investigation. The NCAA has so much egg on it's face. Not that the NCAA will change any of it's behaviors because of this.

I'm not sure of the exact timeline, but apparently she was at one point leading the part of the investigation focusing on Haith (along with another member of the committee who also happened to be a kansas alum... no one else involved with the investigation was at all concerned with Haith).

I don't know if she was still involved, but she might have been the initial leak to Goodman that started this a few days ago. My understanding is that since that first leak, the "Haith is doomed" angle has proven to have no merit at this point, and no bombshell is about to be dropped. But I'm still very much out of the loop. I'm not sure what's rumor and what's fact at this point. I didn't even realize MU had a game yesterday until midway through the second half. What little time I have had recently to pay attention to sports has largely gone to the NFL (49ers fan for about 20 years, and they've got two MU players, so that's kind of been a big deal).

From what I can gather, though, there were two kansas alumni on the committee investigating Miami. Those two were the only ones who felt it was even worth looking into Haith, and at least one of them leaked information regarding imminent findings against Haith, which turned out to be completely false.

Lead investigator on the Haith portion of the Miami investigation was a kansas alum. And she was recently fired for misconduct.

She also was the lead investigator on Josh Selby. I'm sure she was impartial, though.

Regardless of worthless conspiracy theories made up by Mizzou fans (seriously go to their board it's ridiculous), what a worthless hire of a coach. Terrible job by Mizzou.

NCAA investigates itself for lack of institutional control.

Haith might get off after all.

As of now the NCAA doesn't have what it needs. They have the word of Shapiro. Now the fact he's in prison doesn't mean he isn't telling the truth. They can't prove what happened but they sure don't believe what Haith is telling them. There is a chance that he may get off.

Sawyer doesn't have time to follow Missouri athletics but finds time to monitor and make lengthy posts on an OU message board and dream up Kansas conspiracy theories.

Clown central.

44-9 with a national coach of the year award in his season and a half at Mizzou.

Terrible job, indeed.

I've written less than 700 words in this thread over a three-day span. Not exactly a huge time sink.
