I really think we have the opportunity for some great hi-lo sets with Mulkey and Vivi in the game at the same time. I know that doesn't fit Sherri's offense, but it wouldn't surprise me if she threw some of that into the mix next year.

We are going to miss Kaylon desperately, but Vivi has a chance to be dominant, as well. I love her progress and her rebounding.

I think we'll miss her leadership, but Vivi and EJ will fill right in I think. Mulkey will have some time to adjust...

My thought was that Mulkey seems to be a good passer and could set up Vivi on the block.

I think this is an excellent idea, and it is somewhat like what Sherri tried to do with Maddie and Kay Kay in the last game. Maddie got a little cute with a couple of passes. But, Nancy brings two things that would make this work. She is a good passer, and a good shot from the free throw line. That may translate into a good short jump shooter from the free throw line--or pass.

Defensively, I think what Nancy brings is something that we see with tall posts like Lewis and Boyette. It is difficult to shoot over height. Gary Blair never liked having to shoot over Griffin.

I like the idea. We could play Nancy high and Vivi low, Maddie or McKenna High and Nancy low. We would have several options depending on the defense. If run successful, That leaves Peyton, Derica, Maddie, Gabbi, Gioya, and whoever else on the perimeter to shoot at will. It's possible to have a deadly inside/out combination.

Sherri has the people now to run a high low and she has used it very sparingly. She likes 4 guards on the court and unless she runs out of guards, I doubt she uses two bigs together very often (unless you count Maddie a big). I expect guards will shoot from the outside when open (Nancy would be available to rebound a miss), drive if they can, or lob into Nancy on the low block and hope she can score. When you have someone who is 6'9", there should be numerous ways to get her the ball in a good position to score.

I am sorry, but I don't think we have the personnel with the skills necessary to effectively execute a hi-lo offense right now. Who is tall enough and has the passing skills to make this happen?

Because of KayKay's skill, I get the impression that Sherri is locked in on throwing the ball back and forth up top until it can be passed in to KayKay who shoots if she has an opening or passing back out to an open shooter who shoots. That's it. The motion offense stops.

I think that's way over simplified. Yes, feeding the post is a big part of our offense, but it's hardly all of it. We do still run a lot of motion offense; in fact passing to the post is one of the motion options. Our offense was supposed to be different today because of KSU's zone defense. I gathered from Coach's post game radio interview that we did a very poor job of running what we worked on all week.
