I will NEVER root for OU to lose to OSU to force a coaching change. And, that even includes the time when Smellsofbourbon helped seal his fate by losing at home to a vastly outmanned team from Stillwater in '95.

As much as I grew to dislike Howie, it still wasn't worth it to have a Bedlam loss on the ledger. And I didn't even live in Oklahoma at the time, so I was spared the inevitable trash talk from the Ag-crowd.

I don't think it's necessary, I think the game last night should seal Capel's fate. You don't give up against one of the worst teams in the Big 12, doesn't matter where it is. I hope we win Saturday just like I hope we win every game.

If anyone cheers for OSU over OU, they should turn in their OU fan card and find a new team.

Unfortunately, I've heard some OU fans did root for OU to lose in '65 so Gomer Jones would be fired as football coach. I wouldn't be surprised if the same thing happened with Howie, but I don't remember. That was a day I'd like to forget in every way possible.

That was my freshman year at OU ('95)....watching OU lose to OSU and hearing it from all my Okie State friends who were at the game with us was enough trauma for a good 5 of my cheering for OU life.

I wasn't on message boards at the time. But I'm pretty sure people had the same discussion about John Blake before his last game against Tech. If he wins the game he should get another year. If he doesn't fire him. That shouldn't be the argument anymore. Things have deteriorated way too much. And I frankly don't see a major change on the roster next year to make us a great team. It'll be tougher to recruit after another bad year not easier. I think now is the best time for a change. We can get a new coach to start putting in his system, build some recruiting bridges. We won't even have that big a class for another couple of seasons.

I never root for a loss regardless of who is coach or what else is happening with the team. Especially not to the goat farmers.
