Manek is 19% from 3 on the road at the start of conference play.

We had a chance in most of those games and we should of won tonight. The WVU and Bama games we could of won those games but didn't close. We are a jekyll and hyde team when it comes to playing at home to away games. I thought we would be much better than that on the road.

We established we aren’t good on the road long ago

These games aren’t surprises

Vegas favored the correct team for good reason

I know that Manek is always getting trashed on D so I watched him close tonight. He did a good job on the big greasy guy and held him almost scoreless while he was in the game. I actually think Trae has a harder time on defense.

Manek needs to find out why he can't hit the basket on the road. Probably a couple of losses because he can't seem to hit away from Lloyd Noble.

Good to see McNease back and a little life from Doolittle.

This team has a real hard time extending leads. Cost us the game tonight.

And home?

To complete the statistical shocker

Re: >>>>>Oklahoma [16-5, 6-3] vs. Texas [14-8, 4-5] Game Thread<<<<<

problem is nobody is stepping up to be a consistent threat at the end of games like Hield had with Cousins and Woodard..Gotta have some other players step up and want the ball in the clutch. If its just gonna be the Trae show than it will be a quick exit in march

On the road they haven't. At home when we needed a bucket we have had James and Manek hit a couple. All we need is for one of them to make a huge bucket on the road to help them get the confidence they need.

It seems like we have a different problem each game. It is like dam, we fix one leak and then another one pops up. Consistency is killing us.

Nobody seems to want to mention the officiating so I will. As per usual in the big 12 it sucked. Many of our turnovers were trey getting fouled. They shoot 27 ft and we shoot 11? I didn't think I'd ever see it but I am now, men's officiating is worse than women's. And that's saying something.

60% at home, 19% on the road.

I've never seen an extreme like that from anyone player that I can remember. That is horrible. :facepalm

Yep, very frustrating to think that but it is the reality of it right now. Maybe they will find their stroke in the last 8 games of conf play before tourney play starts. I wished somebody would step up and make more of a contribution and make us a little more dangerous.

Re: >>>>>Oklahoma [16-5, 6-3] vs. Texas [14-8, 4-5] Game Thread<<<<<

Texas has 27 points off mostly wide open 3s. Our 3 point D is ridiculously BAD.

I think the game plan was to give the shot BTA. The whorns were shooting 30% for the season but shot over 40% until late in the game. The real problem was our 3-22 BTA. A 40% BTA team can ill afford to shoot 13.6% and expect to win. The whorns also controlled the boards the last 6-7 minutes after commanded the boards for the first 33 minutes. They also beat us to most of the loose balls.

Net net when the going got tough we folded our tent which has become our M.O. on the road the last 3 games.

This game reminded me a lot of when KU played at WV. WV dominated most of game just pounded ball inside. Then the last 10min they start jacking gaurded 3s. They ended up blowing the lead and the game.

I was just about to post about the FTs, but from a different perspective...

OU went in the bonus in the 2nd half early, like around the 9 minute mark. At that point, OU only had 3 team fouls and I thought that FTs could keep our lead even if our shots weren't falling, which they weren't.

After Trae's three made FT attempts after the Osetkowski foul at the 8:26 mark, OU didn't attempt another FT for the rest of the game.

I know UT doubled Trae a lot but, even when they didn't, he still didn't drive much. In addition, after Bilas pointed out how Odomes kept getting the opportunity to drive to the basket with his left after the weaves, that pretty much stopped too.

I'm sure UT adjusted some on D, but I was surprised we didn't try to draw fouls more when they were in the bonus. We didn't really drive or attempt to get to the basket much in those last eight minutes.

Edit: UT was 13/16 at the FT line after that 8:26 (really 6:15) mark...and a big part of that was that Coleman and Roach kept driving and drawing fouls.

Sure. But this isn’t just a one game issue. It’s every game.

I do, he doesn't instill any confidence to the team on the road! A day when we could have tied KU for conference lead! It's a huge choke! The coach is who instills the mentality of a team and on the road we look like a scared team!

We didn't look scared for 33 minutes. You need to find another explanation for this loss. P.S. There multiple reasons to choose from.
