I' am very familiar with HS basketball in the Texas area. One interview Lauren stated she wanted to choose a school who would be a Contender every year for a National Championship. Folks, I just don't see her choosing the Sooners so I'm not going to get my hopes up.
I'm saying UCONN. Or if she does Stay close to home or in the state of Texas being how close her family is, she will choose Baylor or Texas. Really leaning towards the Longhorns with their recruiting classes coming in.
Stafford will be gone and Lang will be a senior. I just have a gut feeling she is not coming to OU.

Cox should make the team, but she'll play along side 2 and maybe even all 3 of the Uconn 2015 signing class..

The link is to an article in the Corpus Christi Caller-Times concerning the effect of the SAE incident on OU. It expresses some ideas that sometimes are of benefit to OU in certain circles in Texas. It might bear on why OU does tend to recruit Texas reasonably well in some sports. It does, or did have, a reputation among certain elements in Texas.
I don't know if it is still true, but the largest fan club in Dallas has historically been the Sooner Club. It may be that OU had via its petroleum engineering and geology departments a lot of graduates in Dallas and the North Texas area. You are about as likely to see an OU sticker as a Longhorn sticker, and you rarely see either a Baylor or A&M sticker. I've been to OU club meetings that filled a rather large auditorium, something I don't know that other schools could do. I don't know that the Dallas bars have many OU fans, but the offices do.
I don't know much about Lauren's background other than that she is from Flower Mound. I would strongly suggest that she has seen as many OU stickers on cars in her neighborhood as from any school in Texas. This may be why she did take it upon herself to visit OU with Brooke Alexander, and why they apparently made it to several games.
It is difficult to compete with Geno. But, although Kim may not like it, she is not in the same league with Geno, and she will never be that good of a coach. If she wants to win, I think she goes to Geno. But, I don't know that this is her primary goal. Why does she want to be just another cog? Is that her?
I think she could care less about the "Stickers"
The point i'm making is that I just don't see cox picking OU simply because of the statement she made. I would love to see her here but I just doubt it will happen.
1. In the past we all Know Sherri has had a problem being "consistent " with recruiting the top talent. I think that's the reason we lost C Walker. It was party of the reason many top recruits don't come because the inconsistency in contact by coach coale. Not slamming her or anything just telling it how it is.
2I've seen on cox' Twitter shes is ALWAYS at either a baylor game or Texas game. I've seen her at plenty. Which gives me the impression shes leaning towards the 2 or UCONN. I remember a couple months ago it was reported all the schools in her final 10 were at her game EXCEPT OU! And it was when we played in WACO the following day!
3. Her statement just sits with me. I know everyone may not be a mulkey fan but I gotta give credit when it's due; the lady cAn coach her butt off when it comes to Talent especially. Texas on the other hand, I'm looking in the future of what' Aston is building and they could be pretty dangerous. We can too don't get me wrong but I'm just analyzing the situation. Baylor , Texas or UCONN. Is where i think Cox will end up. Hate to say it.
We have Nancy and I'm very excited about it! Wish we could get em both but I just don't see it happening.
I would going hard after Wilson for my last 2016 ship. If Wilson goes elsewhere I'm moving that ship to 2017 and building my 2017-2018 class which is going to be huge. Already have Llanusa, I'm going hard after
Jade Williams, Jo'Nah Johnson, Madison Treece, and 2018 Addison Ryan.
Looks like Llanusa, Williams, johnson, and Cox are all playing on Same AAU team. That should be a Plus.
In other words I'm saying, We are not landing anymore top recruits unless we
1. Take a trip to another final 4. Can we at least make a sweet 16 soon?
2. Beat a top 5 program on a consistent basis
3. Other recruits. We have a solid foundation but other top recruits want to play with other top recruits.
Nancy, Dungee, Llanusa has got a find a way to get th here. Scratch that. The STAFF! Needs to recruit these kids harder! I like the 2016 commits with Dungee and Nancy. 2017 and 2018 will be crucial. It will be the turning point of our program.
You mentioned Madison Treece. Do you have any inside information about how good she is?
I don't really mind losing a recruit to UCONN or Tenn. In fact, I don't even mind losing one to Baylor or Texas as long as I know that our coaches did everything possible to sign her. It's when we close camps and miss important games that causes one to wonder.
Good question about Madison, Norm.
I do worry about the fact we closed our camps. How did they explain that?
I'm not as certain we are missing games and are not showing interest in the players we hope/expect to be able to sign. I do know the coaches have been at games involving at least some of the recruits they want to sign.
I did see one blurb that Madison was on a U-17 team that was to go to France. I have seen no clarification.
Dungee was on the 2013 team.
Mulkey was on the 2013 and 2014 teams.

If her ambition is to play for a NC contender, that all but erases our chances. Certainly, UCONN is the easy pick for the top spot. Baylor could show her their NC trophies and possibly convince Lauren that she is the only missing piece to a trip to the final four for the next 4 years. Texas has a trophy or two but they're pretty tarnished by now. The thing they have going is, Aston is a great salesman. If anyone can build relationships and convince recruits that Texas can accomplish great things if they come, it's Karen.
Since Sherri prides herself in being a great communicator, one would think she would want to use that skill in spending as much time on the road getting to know the recruits' coach, the recruit herself, the recruits' family, and of course show up at every game possible. Assistants can only do so much. The HC is really the one that matters most in recruiting. He/she is the one that high school coaches, recruits, and family members notice at games. There are some things the HC just cannot delegate. If you remember when UCONN was recruiting Stacy Hansmeyer at Norman High, it was Geno who showed up to meet Sherri and to watch practices. He didn't send a second fiddle.
+1 Norm, it will be Interesting to see where she ends up.
The thing about Aston is that you never know what to expect, I like the direction her program is heading. He kids seem to play hard For her and are proud to be at the university of Texas. She's definitely hit the ground running on recruiting. Especially the kids in the state of Texas convincing them to stay home. I guess only time will tell. I myself think that I see a final 4 in Texas's future and I see one in ours as well if we can close in on some key recruits.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks the head coach has to be a key part in recruiting. You have to be a go getter! Love you comment about that.
