Yeah lots of kids are better. Buford and Lazenby df positions.

Buford had problems. He would've stayed if it were his choice.

Yes. But we'll have to beat them out. He's a 5 star. Will have almost every offer out there like TY.

Agreed. Five guards may seem like a lot, but you're one injury from a serious problem at two positions where you can't afford to struggle with depth.

I think it's also important to point out that only two of our guards (Young and McGusty) are known to be dependable scorers from the perimeter. I happen to believe CJ will break out of his slump, and that Odomes has the ability to make shots from three. Is it wise to rely on what I think will happen going into the season? No, not really.

We need a guard or wing with a track record for scoring from the perimeter. That's why Koulechov would have been the perfect fit. IMO, bringing in a grad transfer to fill that need is the way to go because it would be the best of both worlds; filling an immediate need and preserving a valuable scholarship for the 2018 class.
 
Rumors of another grad transfer possible visiting??? I like the sounds of this kid. Premium info, so I can't post here....but seems like a player similar to Buford's skillset.

MiKyle McInosh from Illinois State. 6'7" 235 forward. Averaged 12.5 points, 5.6 rebounds last year. Shot 35% from 3 last season, and 38% as a in 2015-16 (although he's not a volume 3 point shooter). Would be a really good replacement for Buford.

Agreed. I think we're gonna have a fun year, and that extra scholarship available could be a big deal in recruiting. We don't have to renew Lazenby's scholarship at the end of the year, but it's shady to recruit like that's an open spot from day one.

kruger doesnt recruit like that. he will be here 2 years more than likely, although DSM leaving was as close as Kruger has gotten to that arrangement and it was just this year. but there was more baggage to that situation

I'm just curious. So does that mean every player that has transferred under Lon left because they had baggage? I know that's likely for some, but I can't help but imagine we had one or two transfers they would have liked to stay.
I believe this is all the transfers we've had under Lon, but I could be missing one or two:
Calvin Newell
Jelon Hornbeak
Frank Booker
Darrion Strong-Moore
Dante Buford

DSM Is the only one that Ive heard of this group that didnt have baggage. Others didnt have a lot of choice in the transfer option.
