Didn't see a thread on this, but did anyone else notice that ORU had just a crushing loss last night at GIA in the preseason NIT?

They were leading Brooks Thompson's UTSA team by 15 at halftime and then gave most of it back early in the second half.

However, ORU was up by 2 with 4.6 seconds left on the line shooting the second of two freethrows. The ORU guy misses the freethrow, and UTSA pushes it up floor and one of their players hits a 25-foot runner as the buzzer sounded to give UTSA a 78-77 win.

:facepalm

So now OSU plays UTSA tonight instead of what I think is a pretty decent ORU team.

UTSA must be pretty good to stage the comeback, though. Did ratboy slide on the floor again?

Ha... I don't know.

UTSA is decent, though. They won their conference tournament and made the NCAA tournament last year.

Still - no way ORU should have lost that game.

With Bell-Holter out ORU is down to 8 scholarship players, so they have no depth. It really doesn't matter what ORU's record is because there is no way for them to get an at-large berth. As long as they are ready for the conference tourney in March they'll be OK. It was a pretty tough way to lose a game, missing 3 free throws in the last 5 seconds and getting beat by a heave at the buzzer.

Does Ratboy still coach at ORU?

I guess UTSA is a decent team too. Lead OSU by 8 under 4:00 left.
