Anyone watch that game? At the end OSU got a layup with .2 seconds left in OT. An OSU sub ran onto the court and hugged the shooter. Isn't that a technical?

No, because Drew called a timeout

He couldn't have possibly called timeout before that kid ran on the court. That kid screwed up and got very lucky he did not cost OSU a double OT. OSU still might have won. I was at the gym when it happened so I couldn't hear the audio.

But Baylor shot the ball with too much time that allowed OSU to get the block and the layup. If the game is tied with no shot clock you should either win or go to another OT.

Watch the replay, it wasn't Drew that called a timeout there was a Baylor player standing directly under the basket, #21 the freshman center, and immediately when the ball goes through the hoop he has his hands raised calling time out.

The kid ran onto the court before he possibly knew if a TO was called. If you cannot admit that, you are just strange. It was a walkon or the last guy on your bench. It is no reflection on the coach, the program or even the kid (other than he screwed up) and nothing bad happened. Why do you worthless aggies have to argue and defend everything associated with OSU? This isn't an insult. I was really just asking my fellow OU fans (not you dumb@$$es) if I am correct it is a technical?

Yes, it should have been a technical with 2 free throws and the ball. The aglets were very lucky on that play. And I agree the aggies need to be banned like the Pokie site does, LOL

It's called "Inferiority Complex"!

That is what I thought. I think the worthless Aggie may be correct if time out was called before it happened then it is allowed. Regardless the kid lost his mind because he could not have possibly known a time out was called. It was a spontaneous reaction that could have been a disaster. I don't fault the kid. It could have been me but can you imagine if you made that mistake and cost your team the game. OSU will probably make the NCAA Trounament but a loss will impact seeding at a minimum.

While I wouldn't call a technical in this situation, it doesn't matter if the player is calling a timeout. A timeout doesn't come into effect until it is granted by the official.

Who cares...OSU beat Baylor. 0.2 seconds on the clock. if a ref would have gave a technical with that amount of time left...the ref should have been crucified. The game was won on the court!

So you would only call a technical foul when it seemed just and reasonable rather than when the rule was broken? That makes no sense. It is either a violation or not. What is the point of having rules if judges or officials enforce them when they want rather than all the time.

In Federal Court the judges enforce the rules strictly and the attorneys comply. In state court you never know if a judge will enforce the rules and attorneys violate them all the time. The state judges seem at loss as to why this happens. The reason seems pretty clear to me. The attorneys know they probably will not suffer any consequences for not following the rules so they don't always follow them. Just enforce the rules or don't have them.

The kid broke the rule on the Court. This is a ridiculous argument. Should the officials enforce traveling? What about a foul on the Baylor shooter (if it happened) prior to the fast break. Officials should consistently follow the rules. Set a standard and live by all game. Don't change it in the final minute simply because the game is close. Had the officials let something go earlier, the game might not be as close.

By definition a technical is a bit arbitrary but they are called. For example, when Cam Clark cleared and hit the player above the shoulder he got a technical. There is no point to having rules is they are enforced arbitrarily. That just leads to confusion and caos.

if they would have given OU a tech in that same scenario...not one of you would be saying the ref made the right call

Not only did the Baylor player call a time out the refs were blowing the whistle to stop the clock immediately after the basket other wise there wouldn't be .02 on the clock.

Hatred of OSU is clouding peoples objectivity. No ref is going to call technical in that situation since the clock is to be automatically stopped after a made basket to allow the other team an inbounds.

Im kinda surprised in those situations coaches dont teach the players to in bounds the ball and then you force the officials to make a call. Especially where you would have to make a lucky shot.

The only time I can recall this being enforced recently was on a Louisville male cheerleader who ran on the court and wound up interfering with the ensuing inbound play. Officials seem to turn a blind eye if it occurs while no action is taking place.

Drew may have been yelling for a TO behind the play as soon as he saw that Brown was going to get an easy lay-up.

This is the truth.
