OU is last place in Big 12 in several categories...

OU is 10th-12th place in the following categories:

Scoring defense: #12
Scoring Margin: #12
Field Goal Percentage: #12
Field Goal Defense: #12
3 Point Percentage: #10
Blocked shots: #11
Turnover margin: #10

Now, I dont expect these to stay this way (or at least I hope they dont!), but it just shows the REALLY poor start this team is having as we get into the season.. The other teams arent playing as bad as Oklahoma, but then again OU is relying very heavily on freshman and OU's star player isnt delivering at the level the other star players are. That should change, obviously.

Lots of things need worked on but this team is young and I have the utmost confidence in Coach Capel. My biggest concern is the lack of big men. It looks like right now Tiny is the only big guy that is Big 12 starter caliber right now.

The defense is SO bad that I doubt that it can be raised to the level necessary to finish above eighth in the Big XII. It is SO bad that the human head isn't big enough to hold enough brains for this bunch to acquire sufficient defensive skills to be competitive.

the defense has been bad. basically across the board, except for defensive rebounding. that's a pretty fixable problem. i wouldn't worry overmuch about it.
