Colorado is better than OU. Come on.
k-state and mizzou have a few wins...
Are we about to be tied with K-State in the conference? Amazing.
if they lose we will have a better record than them, we were tied before the games today
I just realized that. Who would have thunk it...picked 11th in the conference and yet tied to date at 7th?
You know, with NINE new players to start the season, seems like we are slowly starting to pull it together...at least good enough to beat two teams that some on here picked to be clearly better than us.
Do they hand out post-season invitations after 5 conference games?
Who cares where we are in the standings at this point in the season? It only matters what our record is in March.
About today...I thought the team played with a lot of effort and heart. Our rebounding is still poor and our ball handling isn't much better, but you can see some promise in the young ballclub. How much promise is yet to be determined.
If Capel can pull out 3-4 more conference wins, I would be OK with giving him another year. If we play like we did today, I think we can win 3-4 more conference games, but it won't be easy.
Look Booger, I'm never going to come after you becuase you gave me a chance to welsh on a bet that we made when I though TMG and TINY would be a part of this squad; hopefully you'll give me the same courtesy after I refused your offer and will absolutely pay on what is certain to be a losing proposition. That said, it is indisputable that the team is playing hard and coming together to be what it is, a team with no height, talent disparity and yest is playing above expectations in the conference season. We got caught in a jacked up situation, and Jeff is making the vest of it...you add a TMG and TINY to this team and we are talking NCAA, but it is what it is. Still think Capel deserves another year to see what happens...we have clearly gotten better over the course of the season.
I agree with all of this.
Your last post sounded as if we just secured an NCAA bid all because we are 2-3 after 5 conference games. I don't see the point in getting all excited because we are currently ahead of KSU (or whoever) when in the end a 90% chance exists they will be ahead of us.
Just let the season play out before you start thumping your chest...that's all.
You are smart enough to know EXACTLY who this post is directed towards. Once TMG and TINY left, I realized what we were going to be and what we were facing. With those two guys, we are six games better overall in with W/L but it didn't turn out that way. Now we have have kids scratching and clawing their way to wins...add talent and maturity to the mix, and I think we might have something special brewing here.
Baylor, Osu and Nebraska at home along with at Tech are the 4 most winnable games left. Really feeling that a spilt at least is possible. This team while still frustrating at times is finally showing signs of progress.
I think Colorado is more talented. Although they didnt look like it today, Burks and Higgins were probably the two most talented players on the floor. They have the ability to break down guys one on one, something nobody on this team can do at a high level.
Thats whats great about this win. They had the two best players and OUr team/coach found a way to beat them. 5 guys in double figures is usually a recipe for success and a sign of a team that plays together.
