Notice how the dynamics of the game changed when we hit threes. We actually average about 37%. We shot 40% from three. We average about two fewer per game than we hit last night. But, it is interesting how the threes resulted in the quick building of a lead. Then, when UCLA clawed their way back to 45-45, a couple of threes re-established that lead. Then, they just held UCLA at bay.
Jasmine Dixon, senior forward
On Joanna McFarland
“She hit a couple threes and she was 9‐of‐10 from the free throw line. She capitalized on all our
mistakes.”
Atonye Nyingifa, junior forward
On Oklahoma’s offense
“I think they hit a lot of open threes that we couldn’t get to. They had great ball movement. They had
second possessions that created opportunities. They capitalized off our mistakes.”
Cori Close, UCLA head coach
On toughness of Aaryn Ellenberg
“I really have to give her teammates credit. She had timely screens and she got into the lane. The
quickness on the release of her shots and her ability to elevate was great. Their team made her great
tonight. It made me hesitate to put too many players on her because her teammates were playing so
well.”
