****OU vs Nebraska Game Thread****

We have not pushed the tempo all year, why would we now?
We haven't really been about pushing the tempo under Capel. We did some with Blake but Blake is killing it in the NBA. We didn't really push the tempo in Blake's freshman year that much either.

Capel's postgame comments.

We knew it was going to be a close game, came down to one possession. It was certain possessions throughout the game where we have to be disciplined. If you look at the stats they are all close. Our inability to finish a play was what it came down to. We have to be able to finish plays and we didn't today.

We did some good things. We fought, it just wasn't enough and I'm not satisfied. Doc is doing a great job with those guys and they were determined.

Our post defense was very bad, they really took advantage 30 of their 59 points came from the post. We let their big guy catch it deep. Tyler wasn't physical enough. We could have had better ball pressure. They hurt us inside.

height is height and even Nebraska's unathletic looking bigs took advantage of OU's undersized guys.

There are times in a game which allows the ball to be pushed up the court and I have seen the team will at times take the opportunity given and do just that. Then there are times where the opportunity presents itself to push the ball up court and we on purposely slow the ball down. I'm not suggesting we push the ball up court every time we have possession of the ball, but to take what the defense is giving just like when the defense overplays the perimeter thus leaving someone open underneath the basket you look to get the ball inside. That is all.

telling my roomate that myself.. ball pressure on those 3's were pathetic.. half the time they werent even open just that we werent closing in on them fast enough.. overall D was slow and lazy tonight.

i agree here.. seeing jeter push it on us gives me a boner and we can do the same. its not like hes a worldbeater.. i love going fast tempo and getting lay-ups but we have never done that the entire time with capel. which is weird because back at VCU he pressed every game that i saw and pushed...

Totally agree. If he won't take that shot, he shouldn't be out there.

exactly.. i think i might even have fitz take that shot cant recall how much time was left tho so its dependent on that..

one more game closer to a new coach. Capel has ran OU basketball into the ground. Capel is 100% responsible for everything that happened last year and this year.

Nebbish beat Texas today so they do have some players. To be honest I didn't think we would win or compete in as many games as we have this year.
