OU vs Utah 6pm 12/21

Gabby not suited out and in sweats tonight. Lampkin and Perkins also not suited out and in sweats.

We don't play defense. We let teams shoot wide open 3s. Not a recipe for success.

Down 42-32 at half. Utah hitting 55% from the field is the difference. We have to up our defense in the 2nd half. Also we are only shooting 39%. Madi 3-9 and Taylor 2-5 from 3. Tucker has 9 and has played as well as we could hope for Ana…but we clearly miss The pressure Ana puts on opponents defense.

Great comeback!!!

OU wins 83-76!

OU scores 32 points in the 4th quarter!!

I was at the game and the crowd in the 2nd half was very enthusiastic. There were several groups of school girls there and they added to it.

A great comeback win. We were down 52-33 after 2 minutes in Q3. We made several runs the rest of the way keyed by our defense pressuring them and making steals. Tot was huge (I know bad pun) in the 4th quarter scoring 10 points and making a couple of steals. Kelbie made 3 steals in Q4 and scored 6. Key stat for the night was we had 17 steals and forced Utah into 23 turnovers.

For the game Taylor had 19 with 4 3s to break Aaryn Ellenberg’s school record for career 3s. Taylor now has 377 career 3s.

Madi ended up with 17 despite having an off shooting night.

We started out rough, but the impressive thnig about the team is they played hard even early when things did not go their way. Hustled the whole game and when shots started falling, and with the help of good defense and several steals took home a win. It was a great game to watch.
They also overcame playing without two starters. Ana out for the year with injury, and Dee Lampkin not in uniform (no info out on why).

Really like this coach and not just because of the wins..
seems to be a really positive individual.

Of course, like that she has the team playing so much better.

Oh, and Lampkin was out for concussion protocol. Everyone probably knows this by now.

Tough matchup for us. Strong inside players with good outside shooters. Our depth really helps. If we can keep them playing hard the legs will not be there on those outside shots late in the game.

Kelbie and Tot really played havoc with them on defense the last quarter. I think we will see a lot of them together in games with Ana out.

Tucker got off to a great start and then seemed to disappear.

I noticed this in the highlights.....congrats to the coach. But it made a lot of sense.....Utah didn't have a lot of good ballhandlers. It looked like they played together almost the whole 4th quarter.

Switching to the zone defense really seemed to confuse Utah. It wasn't the most beautiful zone defense I've ever seen but it certainly was effective.

Had to chuckle at a particular post early in the thread. Some posts just don't age well.
