Cowpokes down by four in overtime. Forte hits a transition three. Next possession gets fouled behind the three point arc and makes all three shots. Cowboys narrowly survive 69-65 over Akron.

Smart and Forte are winners. That's all they do

JP left with a serious knee injury in the first. Wonder who will get seriously injured next game

Tough game to watch, but those tournements in Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, etc... tend to be grind 'em out type games. OSU seems to have a bunch of pieces that don't fit together. Time will tell.

Like Forte's quick release. Doesn't appear to be the defense liability that Paige was.

Saw a graphic that Akron was one of (I think) 7 teams in the nation to win at least 22 games a year the last 7 seasons. So, this should be a nice win by the end of the season. Sure hope Olukemi isn't seriously hurt (but it looks like he is). Awful breaks for that guy.

My takeaway from the game: OSU is athletic, but not big and are a great team in transition but don't have much of identity in the half court.

They did seem to post up Nash a lot more especially early in the game. Maybe it was due to a mismatch with the guy who was guarding him. Akron's 7-footer shut down any inside game from OSU when he was on the court. Pokes didn't rebound defensively worth a crap when Jurick wasn't out there.

Nice win under difficult circumstances.

Thanks. We also lost Soucek today to what looks to be an ACL. Losing a player a game at this point.

JP's isnt as serious as expected. Only gonna miss a couple weeks

As in torn ACL? Holy crap! Unreal...

Its like watching OU football offinsive line. You get to the point where you are expecting an injury.

Phil Forte is much better than I anticipated.

Curious as to how you would know less than 30 minutes after the game that its his acl? If you speculating thats fine, but it sounds like you're presenting it as fact.

Ford mentioned something about him in his post game but no specifics.
