Well if only those four to pick from and what six open scholarships I say all get an offer and we get everyone except Washburn. I am an optimist, that would leave us with 4 scholarships to fill after Cade graduates next year.

Didn't Newell visit last weekend? Has anyone read an interview with him?

I think there's a 50% chance we land Newell, 40% for Thompson, 30% for CJ Washington and 5% for Washburn.

My picks would be...

Cameron Clark
TJ Taylor
Tyler Neal
Calvin Newell
some guy we haven't heard of yet

there is no way thats all we get...if tiny leaves we have no center...maybe fitz but hes more pf

I hope you are right. I hope we at least get 3 more. But Capel doesn't seem to be wanting to just give away 5-6 scholarships to just anybody. He seems like he is now being very careful not to give one to somebody and have it backfire.

He said pretty confidently that he will add 1 or 2 PG's and hopefully a big man, but only if he fits. I'm guessing we land 2 guys, 3 at the most. I just don't know of anybody that we really have a good shot with that is also a good enough player for Capel's taste.

The problem is that there is no one to get. There is virtually no one left out there that can even come close to being competitive in the conference. We are pretty well screwed for the year in recruiting. We really need to get everyone left on our board to remain competitive at all.

Newell
Thompson
Ross
CJ Washington

I have not seen any video on washington but primarily from the fact that we brought him in for a visit and didnt offer I would assume hes not very good? So I wouldnt take him

But adding newell, thompson, and ross would make us very competitive next year imo...we would have to keep the tempo up but we should have the guards to do that with that recruiting class

I think he was hurt and the coaches are going up to his JUCO this week to watch him work out and evaluate him since they haven't seen him in person. This year Capel might have to settle for a "body" just to field a team sadly. This guy seems to be all about playing hard and being tough. Even if he plays little that's infectious and the young guys need that.

I agree. He seems like just what we need.

But who knows. He's in Junior college for a reason. Either he wasn't good enough to play D-1 out of HS or he didn't have the grades/ACT/SAT. Either way, it makes it tough to make it even 2 years at a major university like OU. See Juan Patillo, Kyle Cannon and Orlando Allen. But it has been done before. Hopefully we'll get him and he'll help. If not, I'll assume that Capel had a good idea that it wouldn't work out.

Go to March 17th Connors vs. Walters and watch him.

thompson, newell, loyd, jones, ross... not my prediction, but my wish list...

3 more players...which ones I really don't care, just as long as Capel thinks they will fit and be able to contribute right away...

These last three guys need to be able to play and we need Gallon back.

Yea, i just want Capel to pick up 2 or 3 guys that can play right away and use the rest of the scholarships on the next season...that way he can get on some guys early and not have to worry about having a spot for them...

*sigh*......I think I need some Prozac to deal with the depression caused by lack of commitments.....

I have a feeling the early signing period will be silent for us next year because of Capel's present situation. If we have another bad year, and he's canned, I'd prefer the new coach had a bunch of ships to work with.

So it may be best if he doesn't use them all.

Terrence Ross! I have a very very good feeling we are going to get him

luckyc1423 - I hope that you are right. We sure could use him and his running mate. I sure hope that his running mate does not go with Shelby...
