Player of the week honors

It's surprising that we have only had a player win the award one week:

I'm not at all surprised. We haven't had a player have consistently stellar performances. Kay Kay had one game.

I agree our players have been terribly inconsistent and we're not deserving of the award. I think what surprises me is that at the beginning of the season I expected with our returning experience we would win multiple player of the week awards. That obviously didn't happen.

Agreed, I thought we would get at least 3 or 4.

It has nothing to do with consistency. It is a one week honor.

It has been several years since we have done well at the weekly honors. I would place more weight on the weekly awards if they were transparent about who does the selecting.

Here is a question. In the history of the weekly honors has there ever been a player who sets or ties the record for most points in the season - particularly at/near the end of the season, yet has that accomplishment judged as not worthy of mention?

Yes it does. You typically have to have two good games in order to get POTW. That's what I mean by consistency. My point was that someone will have a good game on Wednesday, then tank the performance on Saturday.
