When is this guy going to step up and play with great effort and energy? The way osby is playing reminds me of how ace mcgee finished his sooner career, it would be nice to have bird join the party and play with a passion that Buddy and Ro do!

Some dont have that ability to lead that way. But he is our 2nd leading scorer, 80% from the FT line, and a solid 36% from 3's.

So negative, all the time. Give the kid a break, he is play well.

Playing hard has nothing to do with leadership

You dont think he plays hard? I dont see him slacking. Just because he doesnt scream and yell and show out, doesnt mean he doesnt play hard. For him to get his points, he moves good without the basketball. The other teams best defender is usually on him.

He wouldn't be getting the minutes he is getting if he wasn't playing hard.

The grief this kid catches is ridiculous. Almost as bad as what AJ endured.

i don't think he plays with a whole lot of eneergy and does get lazy in his defense...he probably leaves his man open the most of anyone on the team

AJ endured a hell of a lot more grief than pledger

Pledger was the best player on our poor teams. Now he's the 4th or 5th best player because our team is better.

I have noticed that every time I'm about to say something negative about him he will knock down a big shot.

He is what he is. It's best to appreciate what he brings to the table without expecting too much.

I suppose all the clutch 3s he has hit in his career don't count as stepping up?

Just b/c he doesn't have the athleticism to pressure the ball like our three freshmen, doesn't mean he is lazy.

It's also crazy to say he "leaves his man open the most." Pledger wasn't the only one that gave up open shots to McGruder and McClellan.

This a situation where a guy who was used to being a primary scoring option has slid into a complementary role. I believe he is playing best basketball of his career. With the reduction in minutes, his effort is better, his defense is better and he is doing well on the boards.

He started on McGruder, KSU best player. So i guess LK is dumb and is trusting his job on Pledge guarding him!

Brillant! Fire LK NOW!

If I recall correctly, Pledger was almost an afterthought in the recruiting class he came in with and he made himself into our best scorer last year so cut the guy a break.

This is probably the best way to look at it. Pledger has a knack for making big plays, but he isn't a great anything (shooter, scorer, defender, rebounder, etc). On this team, he doesn't have to be. He is doing a much better job fulfilling this role than he did filling the role of best player/leading scorer.
