The Sooners have landed Quincy Wadley, the top available recruit in the 2026 class, sources tell Sooners Illustrated.
Wadley, the No. 43 overall player in the class, becomes the highest-rated recruit Porter Moser has landed at Oklahoma according to the 247Sports rankings. He is Oklahoma's highest-rated signee since Trae Young in 2017.
The 6-foot-4 guard, originally from Arlington, VA, spent his senior season at AZ Compass, one of the top prep programs in the country. Wadley was a major priority for Justin Scott and the Sooners, who hosted him for an official visit on Wednesday and were able to seal the deal during the trip.
Wadley averaged 11.8 points and 3.6 rebounds in 18 games at AZ Compass. Last summer on the Pro16 circuit, he flashed not only as a scorer, but also as a rebounder and defender, averaging 6.4 rebounds and 2.1 steals per game.
He is a microwave scorer with really good positional size and length that shows up on the glass and defensive end. Wadley has the physical tools to contribute right away in the SEC, though he will likely need to continue getting stronger physically.

Offensively, he should be able to provide Oklahoma with instant scoring off the bench as long as he can limit the turnovers and poor shot selection, two areas that still need development. The upside here is significant. Injuries slowed parts of his development previously, but Oklahoma now gets the opportunity to unlock that potential.
Wadley joins Gage Mayfield in Oklahoma's 2026 recruiting class. Between Wadley, ranked No. 43 nationally, and Mayfield, ranked No. 74, Moser has now landed two of the top six recruits of his Oklahoma tenure and two of the top-10 highest-rated signees Oklahoma has landed since 2016.
The pair gives Oklahoma a ton of long-term upside, while both also possessing the ability to contribute immediately. Wadley projects primarily at the two and three, while Mayfield, more of a wing-forward, will play the three and four.
This should round out Oklahoma's additions expected to be contributors, as the Sooners now have three remaining roster spots that are expected to go toward depth pieces.
Oklahoma has added Wadley and Mayfield from the high school ranks, Akoldah Gak from the G League, and Pop Isaacs, Khani Rooths, Tyler Hendricks, and Yaak Yaak from the transfer portal, while also retaining Xzayvier Brown, Derrion Reid, Dayton Forsythe, and Kai Rogers.
