I saw something of what Maddie can do. Still needs to be more aggressive. Passed up some open shots. BYU guarded her more closely second half.
ViVi had a case of alligator arms and club hands tonight.
This is why Wyatt has had minutes on the court.
T'Ona still insists on getting among the trees to no good purpose except to get her shot block or tied up.
Kellog justified some of her minutes but not all.
Yea Gabbi! Looked like herself.
What would we do without Little?
Need more work on both ends on rebounding.

Maddie set the tone for the game. Then, others took on the mantle. Little, then Kay Kay, then Derica. They spread it around once it was started.

I think they quit moving as well in the second half, and shots weren't as open.

Vivi wasn't good tonight, but I still love her size and skill. She will play a lot better.

Gabbi can still play better, I think. She will be in another gear by conference play. She is likely putting too much pressure on herself.

Maddie was wonderful in the first half but I am concerned she will always be somewhat inconsistent.

Tonight was obviously a huge improvement. Yet, we still have a lot of room to improve. We are not finishing around the basket like we should.

Sherri, Maddie, and Peyton addressed this in the post game interview. Maddie can shoot. She tends to be unselfish, and she gets a kick out of an assist. But, Sherri said she wants the hot hand shooting, Maddie, Peyton, or whoever. Maddie loses concentration, or something to that effect, after a start like that, and she has to learn to keep it up. That's something they'll work on in practice.

I thought that Maddie was sensational in the first quarter. But, she was actually helping the team about as much in the second with her rebounds, defense, and assists. She was making things happen. She imparted the momentum early, and the team fed off of it. It's nice to have someone who can do that.

I think Sherri knows how to build a scorer. Cite- Peyton Little. She is doing the same things, saying the same things about Maddie that she did about Peyton last season. I think without a doubt in my mind, the best is yet to come.

Team looked good. I think were still in the process of filling out Gioya's production, and people are learning to take on more responsibilities.

My only concerns are against more athletic teams, I think we could have a few holes when a couple of our players have to guard more explosive players and/or come back down and score on them as well. But I guess we will have to wait and see. Good Win, way to bounce back.

+1

We will really miss Gioya if she doesn't get to play this year. I'm anxious to see McKenna's improvement as I think she will be the backup #4 and has worked on the 3 all off season.
