Recruiting Class 2015

Here is a list of who OU follows or follows OU or has interest in OU. Jordan Moore (6-4,TX), Ksenija Madzarevik(6-6,Tn), Theresa Ekhelar(6-6,NJ), Ashley Hearn(6-3,TX), Nora Kiesler(6-6,KY), Zada Williams(6-1,FL), Brooke Alexander(6-0,TX), Hailey Tucker(6-2,OK), Darby Maggard(5-4, IN), Rebecca Moura(5-6,FL), Makenzie Ellis(6-2,OK,TCU), Danni Williams(5-9,NM). Alot of bigs. I wish OU had 3 or 4 to give. I still have hope OU could switch Ellis. She is originally from California.

A lot of good things are being said about Moore.

I think you can add Meredith Burkhall 6-3, F from Iowa, Mompremier 6-4 C from Florida as well as a working list.

Pretty sure, Ellis in back with the TCU firings. I'd take
Jordan Moore
then either Alexander/Tucker/or Ellis.

I'm going to presume OU takes 2 in the fall. Some roster attrition is likely between now and then.
So one pure big, one athletic PF/SF "big". I might go crazy if one spot out of the two goes to a guard.

I would take Erin Degrate 6-4 from Waco Lavaga over Jordan--much stronger and more mature on the court.

Thanks, I took her out. I agree with you, I hope we don't sign any more guards until at least 2016.

This article was written back in January about one of DeGrate's games:

Using her rangy 6-4 frame to her distinct advantage, DeGrate scored 34 points and yanked down 32 rebounds to push No. 1-ranked La Vega past No. 11 Robinson, 79-52, in a clash of District 17-3A unbeatens Friday at the Pirate Gym.

Pallas Kunaiyi-Akpanah 6-3 Forward 2015 Rabun Gap (GA) - Started her season strong with two wins in the first game Pallas scored 8 points and had 12 rebounds to power Rabun Gap. Oklahoma was in the house this week to see the star forward.

Ksenija Madzarevic 6-6 Forward 2015 Rabun Gap (GA) Had a big opening game as well for Rabun Gap scoring 19 points and adding 10 rebounds in the win.

Degrate is a big girl looks like Courtney Paris in pictures, OU hasn't done that well getting players in to shape when they come in chubby. Abi,Cp3, Ashley lost the pounds on her own. Moore has more of an athletic body type/pro frame, I would prefer her, she also is teammates with Cox and Alexander.

To be somewhere between Oliver/Syb,
we have zero interviews with any prospect top 20 or top 100 for 2015 where on the record they are leaning to OU, officially visiting OU, or verbaled to OU.
Doesn't mean recruiting is going badly, but we have little evidence recruiting is going great either. Partly due to the fact that only one resource gets any kind of info from Sherri on who to interview, ergo he's the only resource that interviews women's hoops prospects.

It's still very early and for some actual data points here are the commit dates from the best players recently who became Sooners (dates are as close as I could find a source)
Ortiz - Aug 31st, 2013
Pierre Louis - October 28th, 2013
Kornet - October 25th, 2011
Manning - December 2010

So no real reason to panic based on past data.

I'm not surprised Camara has an offer from OU because of what was reported several days ago. The best part in her profile is, "she is very physical". We desperately need some toughness. We often play too soft and don't really have an enforcer. No one is intimidated by our finesse game. We need some Caton Hill and Leah Rush players to dish it out. While I don't really like our chances recruiting against the likes of those good teams on the east coast, this tells me that Sherri sees the need to get tougher and more physical.
