RTC = Rush The Court for those who don't know.

I say yes. In my opinion, rushing the court shouldn't have anything to do with history. Looking at it this way, if by some miracle we beat Texas Wednesday Night, it would be a very mediocre team beating a Top 5 team and therefore would be worthy of an RTC, in my opinion.

I personally feel the only way you could successfully argue against a potential RTC is if you choose to look at things from a historical perspective, in which case yes, we have historically had success against UT and therefore and RTC might be considered unnecessary. I can understand where this viewpoint is coming from, but disagree with it.

And yes, I do take this seriously. :p Your thoughts?

Of course, there's also the slight possibility the UT gets stunned by TTU tonight. On the off chance that happens, my opinion would change to a "No" for the RTC, as we are better than TTU so there would be no point in RTCing after a TTU win over UT.

But let's face it, TTU is NOT winning tonight so I figured I'd start this thread a few hours earlier.

Normally, no. This year, given how each team has faired thus far, yes.

I hope we get to find out. :jcapel

It goes without saying that only students should rush the court. It looks really lame when middle aged dudes do it.

I think that if there were a game this season where we would absolutely rush the court if we won, it would be Kansas. Kansas is the only team that we have a losing record to in the B12, and I don't remember the last time the Jayhawks had a bad team.

Texas is another story. Yeah it would be cool to rush the court if we beat Texas, and if we do I will definitely take part in it. However, unlike Sooner_in_MI I definitely take history into consideration. I would be 100% for rushing the court if I knew there is absolutely no way in hell we're going to beat Texas, but I think we have a chance with the way we've been playing at home. Hell, we even have an outside shot at getting into the NIT (fingers crossed). I would understand rushing the court if we were 0-8 in B12 play, like some said we would be, but we're not. We're overachieving, and beating Texas would simply add to the list.

It also depends on how we beat Texas. If it's a tightly contested game, then I say by all means go for it. However, if by some stroke of luck we manage to beat them by 10+ I say don't rush.

Let's just hope we get to the point where we have to think about rushing.

I'm a "middle-aged dude" and if we beat the bonghorns and the students RTC, I will also RTC, but only in my official capacity of photojournalist so that I can properly document the student RTC. Hopefully I won't sprain an ankle.

no, act like you've been there

99% of the time I'd agree with that. However, I can only think of one time in the past 20 years when OU fans rushed the court after a win - beating Kansas in '95. If this team with this talent can upset KU or UT, I don't see how one could blame the fans for storming the court.

Does anyone remember the 2003 season? That was a record year for rushing the court in OU games. OSU, Missouri and Texas fans all rushed the court after beating OU on their home floor.

Hell no.

Please don't. I'm begging you all.

If you do decide to RTC, you're probably gonna be dealing with some burning eyes and a few broken limbs. See OU/NU Football 2000.

I say yes.

It would be one of the biggest upset wins in school history.

I want to say no for the reasons already posted but if things go that well and RTC commenses im sure I will get caught up in it.

wHY?WE BEEN THERE,DONE THAT.BEATING UT IS NOT A NEW THING.
Beating the number 2 team in the country when we've combined to win 25 games the last year and a half is a big deal. Texas may be the best team in the country right now.

I'd be down for it but might be difficult to convince the 25 students there to get rowdy enough to do such a thing.
