Santa Fe leads at the half 28-26. Really a fun game to watch. With Mercer, Johnson, Foy, and Brown, there are some athletes in this game. Nero started but didn't play much, not sure why, she's a good athlete too. The shots aren't falling very well for either team but, both teams really attack the basket. Both push the ball hard in transition.

If you like fast-paced aggressive basketball, you would love this game!

Westmoore won 63-57. Westmoore just played smarter than Santa Fe. Not sure how many points Murcer had but she had a good game. Johnson had a good game as well. With about 25 seconds left in the game, Johnson knocked down a three from about 8' behind the three point line.

Nero had been wearing a boot on her foot in the past week. Wonder if she is still hurt.

Thanks for the updates Norm! Several had said Johnson had very deep range from 3. Who else stood out? Sounded like a high scoring fast paced game.

6A is going to be a toss up come playoff time.

Also anybody know the final Broken Arrow -Sapulpa score? Was unable to make the game.

For Westmoore, the players who stood out were Murcer and Gomez. That team doesn't have a "wow" factor but they play smart and are efficient on the offensive end plus they play good team defense.

For Santa Fe, Johnson, Foy, and Nero all looked good. They have one girl, Brown, who may not be a great player (can't tell from just one game) but she is a great athlete...jumps really well.

Both teams probably lost 10 or more points in missed layups. I presume that is unusual for both teams.

I loved how hard they played and could not help but enjoy seeing that many really good athletes on the court.

Johnson is a handful.

I have seen Johnson a couple of times. She did not dominate either time. What does she do in other games? What is it about her that moves her up so high in the rankings?

I agree with your assessment of Westmoore

I've seen Johnson maybe Twice last year in person and the other time on a live stream this year. The more I watch her the more I understand the type of player she is. You never know what your going to get & I think that's what the coaches like. She's the type of player who will take over a game only when she has to and just make you go "Wow", If that makes any sense. One night she could have a career high in assists, the other it could be points, etc. She's definitely a momentum type of player I would love on my team.

I like Murcer and Gomez as well. I really want to see how Murcer develops over the years being only a sophomore I can't really make an evaluation on her other than she is a great shooter.

I will hope to see Santa Fe, Westmoore, Sapulpa, and Broken Arrow play during playoffs. That way everyone is playing their best basketball.

That's a fair question. It's also a question I have about Mulkey. Nancy may be a 4-time All American and erase all of Courtney's records but, I have not seen it yet. Her stats do not indicate she is dominating in high school. But, I am sure hoping she turns it on at OU and dominates in college.

First, I'm not saying Johnson is the greatest thing since sliced bread as I haven't seen Patterson, Morris, Evans, Westbrook, etc. But, she is a good ball handler, she made some great passes last night, she never got rattled and played with confidence. She penetrated and knocked down midrange jump shots. She played good defense. She had 2-3 threes. Westmoore put Murcer on her early and later had Gomez guarding Johnson. In my opinion, the three best players on the court were Johnson, Murcer, and Gomez.
