Sapulpa falls short vs. Southmoore FROM THE TULSA WORLD

TULSA — Sapulpa fell behind early, trailed by as many as nine points and never caught up in a 42-41 loss in Thursday's Class 6A girls state tournament quarterfinals at Tulsa Webster High School.
But they made it interesting in the fourth quarter when Southmoore standouts Serithia Hawkins and Kyeria Hannah fouled out.
The Sabercats led 42-37 on Nikale Maciel's layup and a Kyra Johnston free throw, but baskets by Brice Calip and KiKi Boyer cut the lead to a point with 7.1 seconds left.
Sapulpa fouled and Southmoore missed two foul shots with 5.9 seconds left, and the Chieftains had a chance to win, but Calip lost the ball on a move in the paint and pitched it back to Boyer, but the horn sounded before she could shot.
Southmoore (22-6) was led by Johnston's 11 points. Calip had 16 and Chelsea Dungee added 13 for the Chieftains, whofinished 22-5.

Broken Arrow 44, Edmond Santa Fe 40 (OT):
Sophomore Jalise Smallwood made two foul shots with 12.5 seconds left, helping Broken Arrow escape Edmond Santa Fe 44-40 in 6A first-round action.
Broken Arrow led 34-29 in the fourth quarter, then allowed eight straight points before Darian Jackson's basket and foul shot tied the game at 37 with 1:29 left.
In a wild, speeded-up, raggedly played game on both sides, each team had chances to win in the final minute of regulation.
BA's Alexis Gaulden lost the ball with 58 seconds left and Santa Fe held for the last shot. Jo'Nah Johnson was fouled with 8.9 seconds left, but missed both foul shots, two of six in a row she missed. The Wolves were a combined 11-for-30 from the line.
Jackson s cored first in overtime and the Tigers were ahead to stay, but the issue wasn't decided until Smallwood's foul shots made it a two-possession game with 12.5 seconds left.
Gaulden and Asyia Evans had 13 each and Jackson added 11 for the Tigers (22-5).
Rachel Shadid scored nine for the Wolves, who finished at 22-5.

Aaliyah Wilson showed why she was chosen Gatorade Player of the Year as the No. 1 Roughers led from start to finish.
Muskogee led 40-16 at halftime and by 29 in the second half, but saw the Bulldogs twice draw within nine points before pulling away.
Elise Wyatt scored 11 of her team-high 15 points in a 24-4 run that brought Edmond Memorial to within 51-42 and 53-44. But Trena Mims scored on the next two possessions and the Roughers were coasting again.
Wilson made plays all over the floor, finishing with 13 points, 12 rebounds, four blocked shots and three steals.
No play was more special than the one she made to end the first quarter. With time running out, she stole a pass, dribbled across the halfcourt line and banked in a 30-footer as time expired.
Jada Ford led the Roughers with 24 points and Mims also scored 13.

Ana Llanusa scored 13 of her game-high 28 points in the third quarter, helping the Yellowjackets take control after the archrival Bombers led for most of the first half.
Llanusa's barrage helped Choctaw (21-5) lead 43-36 after three quarters. Midwest City (21-6) got within three points early in the fourth quarter and trailed 50-46 after two foul shots by Chinna Fair with 3:15 left.
But Fair, who led the Bombers with 22 points, fouled out after that, and her team did not score again.
