Circle this game.....
The game on November 18th against East Carolina, in Myrtle Beach, will be an interesting early test. It's a "transfer trap", with a team that usually sucks but took advantage of the transfer portal.
They are big and will be a great early test for Oklahoma.
Couple of notes:
PG: Triston Newton (6'5'' 190 - Sophomore)
Averaged 9 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game as a true freshman. Set the ECU freshman season record for assists and the fourth-most by a freshman in conference history. #1 assist man in the AAC. Led the Pirates in 3-point field goal percentage, free throw percentage, total assists (114), assists per game, total steals (37) and steals per game (1.7)
SG: Wynston Tabbs - (6'2'' 195 - RS Sophomore)
Transfer from Boston College. High level player against P5 competition. Averaging 13.9 points, 3.9 points and 2.7 assists per game as a freshman at BC. Scored 18 against NCST, 24 against Minnesota, 23 against ST Johns, 15 against Louisville, 16 against Rhode Island, etc.
SG: JJ Miles (6'7'' 215 - Senior)
- Ranked second on the team in scoring with 9.8 points per game while also averaging 2.9 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game. Played in 16 games and made 11 starts, averaging 27.1 minutes per game
PF: Vance Jackson - (6'9'' 230 - Senior)
Transfer from Arkansas, UCONN, and New Mexico. A career 1,000 point scorer at the college level. Can really shoot the 3 from the PF spot. 13.1 points and 7.0 rebounds per game as a sophomore at New Mexico, 11 and 5 as a junior. Had 29 and 13 against Fresno, 25 and 13 against San Jose state, 30 and 8 against Fresno, 18 and 10 against a top 10 Nevada team, 27 and 6 against New Mexico state, 16/5 vs Houston, 13 and 3 vs Georgetown, 14/4 against Memphis, 14/9 against Tennessee, etc. High level production at the D1 level.

C: Alanzo Frink (6'8'' 270 - Junior)
Transfer from South Carolina. Started 12 games at South Carolina as a sophomore. Averaged 5 points and 4 rebounds per game. Scored in double figures 7 times. 22 and 4 against Georgia, 10 and 7 against Alabama, 13 and 3 against Vanderbilt, 6 and 5 against Kentucky, 8 and 2 against Mississippi State, 9 and 8 against Virginia... Nothing spectacular, but a good experienced guy in the paint who has years playing against high level competition.

Couple of notes:
- They return all 5 starters (who won't be starting this year)
- They lost 8 games by 6 points or less
- They got some good transfers from Boston College, New Mexico, and South Carolina
- They are a very big team...
