Senior Night OU vs texas 8pm CST on ESPN2

This game is on Reaves and Bienemy. Not Doolittle.

Bienemy didn't score. Air balled at least 2 of his 3 shots, might have air balled all of them. The only time he scores is when nobody is within 25 feet of him. 2 rebounds, 1-2 assists. Basically did nothing out there.

Reaves had a bad second half and the critical technical that put OU in a bad position.

I never said the loss was on Doolittle. I just said I hope he doesn’t think he lost the game because he didn’t. Almost everyone else was terrible outside of Doo.

Outside of Doo and Reaves, the team made 4 shots.

Fixed that for you.

Doo made 6 shots on 14 attempts (43%); Reaves made 4 shots on 8 attempts (50%).

The rest of the team went 4-for-28 from the field.

When was the last time OU lost at buzzer? Can't remember it. They survived games against MSU and UCF at the buzzer this year, but I can't remember something like that happening in a long time.

Anyone know?
Off the top of my head:
OSU in Stillwater (Feb of 1987)
Iowa in Seattle (March of 1987)
BYU in Maui (Nov of 1992)
eATMe in College Station (Feb of 1999)
Nebraska in Lincoln (Jan of 2006)

There may be others. Maybe my brain is protecting me. We've had several close shaves the last few years. We've been on the right side of several buzzer beaters.

Still lots of moving pieces... when OU was projected in, Texas wasn't. Texas just got a bid. South Carolina just got a bid tonight that wasn't expected. OU needs to take care of business against TCU.

If texas loses to oswho (they probably won't but much stranger things have happened) and OU beats TCU, texas is no more in than we are.

texas is 19-11 on the season; OU is 18-11. They're one game ahead of us in the conference standings with one to play. We have a shot at tying for third in the conference.

In other words, the Big 12 standings are hardly set in stone. Not by a loooong shot.

Agree, but minor correction. OU is 18-12

Moot point, but what a weird play by Doo on the inbound pass with 0.4 left. Even if Manek catches it he is 75 feet away with his back to the basket.

Don't you just throw it the length of the court in that situation

Bc he didn't give af. and thats the sort of mentality the team has when things get adverse at times

South Carolina didn’t come close to securing a bid. They are probably still on the outside looking in right now and definitely have more work to do than we do at this point.

Oh yeah. It hit me like a ton of bricks this morning.

North Carolina in Austin (March of 1990)

That game was SOO disappointing!! That was one of my fav OU teams...finished the regular season ranked #1 I believe! Jackie Jones, Damon Patterson, Smokey McCovery!! Team had some talent!

After we got the lead, our failure to make Texas use up 5-6 seconds bringing the ball past half court (we let them roll it to there with a dead clock), time and time again, came back to bite us and ended up giving texas the 15-20 seconds they needed to win that they should not have had.

Anyone know why lon doesn't make the other team start the shot clock on the inbounds play? If not, what is his theory on not doing so?

When was the last time OU had a "Brock Cunningham".... He is gonna be one of those guys that drives people nuts for years. I agree with Fran, they could sign 5 McDonalds All-Americans and he will play because he is tough as nails, the ultimate team player, dives for loose balls, fights for rebounds, etc.

He isn't nearly as talented as Najera, but he has that spirit in him.... Who has OU had like that since Najera? Just a warrior that days all the dirty work. Willing to bleed every game. Make all the team plays. Etc.

Daryan Selvy?

Capel and Lon both like the sexier players. The guys that look like NFL TE's getting off the bus. Give me hoopers like Hollis or Warriors like Najera/Minor ANY day of the week.
