9 points, 6 rebounds, 1 block per game for Hutch. Shoots 46% from the foul line, which shows he has no skill.

He doesnt even lead them in rebounding.. some 6'6'' 210 guy leads them on the glass. He is their 4th leading scorer, which tells me he isnt going to come here and be a top 7 option on offense.

So, his entire career in juco has been pretty much awful. He doesnt score well, doesnt rebound well, only blocks one shot per game, and cant shoot to save his life.

Thats not some guy being negative, those are the numbers. I mean, if you are gonna sign juco players, sign good ones. Nick Thompson, CJ Washington, Goff, etc. These guys arent D1 players, but there are plenty of juco guys out there that are. OU just signs bad ones.

I mean, this guy is basically a different version of Nick Thompson. Nick averaged 8 and 5 and was the 4th or 5th best player on his juco team. Goff is the 4th or 5th best player on his juco team. One guy is a softie with some skill, the other is a taller, more athletic guy with no skill.

6.4 ppg, 5.7 rpg, .8 bpg, .2 apg, 3-4 foulspg.

^That's my negative perspective.

7.1 ppg 6.1 rrpg, .9 bpg, .7 apg, 3-4 foulspg.

^That's my positive perspective.

Something I don't understand about basketball fans is this:

How can you be more athletic with no skills? Aren't shooting, ball handlling, etc. signs of athletic ability. It seems to me that a lot of basketball fans equate athletic ability with jumping and running. To me hand-eye coordination is the key trait of an athlete. If you combine it with a big vertical and speed great but as soon as you lack hand-eye coordination you pretty much suck at all sports.

Because how you produce in JUCO automatically translates to equal or worse in NCAA, right? Right?

Can you name someone that was substantially better after juco than in juco? I am certainly not claiming it has never happened but I can't really think of any guys that didn't produce in juco and then lit it up in D-1.

CJ Washington's Juco bio.

Earned first-team National Junior College Athletic Association honors as a sophomore after averaging 19.3 points, a school-record 13.0 rebounds and 1.8 blocked shots per game ... Also named the NJCAA Region II Player of the Year and Region II Tournament MVP ... Led Connors State to a 30-4 record and to national junior college tournament ... Recorded 25 double-doubles in his 32 games (14 consecutively at one point) ... Ranked fifth in the country in rebounding and 32nd in scoring ... Broke the single-game school rebounding record with 26 in Region II Tournament semifinals against Murray State College ... Helped Connors State to a 28-9 record and the NJCAA Final Four as a freshman by averaging 12.0 points and 8.0 rebounds ...

I dont know that this has ever happened before, but I am literally cracking up at this, lol. Best animated gif EVER.

Not many people suck for 2 years in juco and then arrive on a Big 12 campus and all of a sudden turn into a good basketball player. He is already 3 years removed from high school too. He is the equivalent of a college junior this year.
