Reggie Jacksom could not have found a better fit. This team is posed for a long run of success.

Jackson, KCP, Butler, Monroe, Drummond is a hell of a starting 5 and SVG is a hell of a coach. Dinwiddie looking really good too.

Love the Pistons.... very well put together now. Got rid of Josh Smith, added some nice pieces, and have one of the best PF-C duos in the league.

I do like their lineup. And I have always been a fan of Reggie's talent. His attitude and effort are another thing.

He had very harden like numbers at okc. Not as good of a shooter but he can score the ball and distribute when his head is right.

But I'm very glad the thunder got rid of him. he was a cancer with okc and acted like a doosh. Third game of the season and russ and kd are out and you have a chance to start but you are pissy about not being traded so you fake an injury but then go and throw down a dunk in front of the media? The guy is me me me. Incredible ceiling though.

I expect Jackson to do very well in Detroit. I don't think he's a superstar in the making, but he'll be a quality starter. I think Detroit got the most talented player in the trade.

I get why the Harden comparisons are made, but he's never been--and will never be--the player that Harden was and is. Comparing their stints in OKC, Harden was better and younger (he was 22 years old in his last game in OKC, whereas Jackson turns 25 this April). Harden was far more effective on and off the ball. While he wasn't as athletic as Jackson, his shooting not only better spaced the floor for his teammates, but it commanded enough respect from defenders that it opened up driving lanes. Jackson also couldn't get to the foul line like Harden. Even as a 20-year-old rookie playing 22.9 minutes per game and using 20.4% of possessions, Harden attempted 3.2 FTs, whereas Jackson can't even crack 2.3 FTA as a 24-year-old playing 28 MPG and using 22.6% of possessions.

I've been a fan of SVG the coach, but it remains to be seen how good SVG the GM is. Coaching a team and constructing a team are very different tasks. Very few can do both effectively. The Meeks and Butler contracts were bad but far from crippling. He probably should have cut bait with Smith over the summer rather than letting his value plummet even further.

in regards to getting to the line....jackson had given up on the season and stopped driving in okc and settled for jumpers

That doesn't explain his inability to get to the line the previous three years.

FTA per 36 minutes
2011-12: 2.1
2012-13: 2.2
2013-14: 2.8
2014-15: 3.1

I'm sure he'll get to the line more in Detroit simply by using more possessions, but it's never been something he's done well, even going back to his BC days.

I think Reggie is a poor man's Westbrook and not a Harden. I also think he's the type of player that will spend his entire career putting up numbers on bad teams.
