Watched hoops from 9:30 am to about 8:30 pm at the GASO.
Here are some notable things.
Marcus Foster is a 6'2 combo guard (2013) out of Wichita Falls Hirschi (sp) and he can play. He shot well in both games I watched. He's a bouncy athlete that can get off the ground quickly. Add in his quickness at getting into the lane and he has some big time potential. Defiantly one to keep an eye on, as he's likely going to be Big 12 caliber. His team Dallas Mustangs Booker, is still alive so I hope to catch more of him.
To go along with Marcus Smart's ability to impact the game in multiple ways he showed off an improved three point jumper. Only saw him once today as he sat out the pool play game due to a sore toe but played in both bracket games, which his team won. I spoke with him briefly, and got some generic recruiting answers. Already have some good highlights from the one game I saw, since his team should advance to the finals, expect more Smart coverage.
On the local note the OK Wizards Elite squad knocked off a traditional DFW aau power Dallas Showtyme Elite. Then fought a tough battle vs. Dallas Mustangs Booker before bowing out. Aaron Anderson had a strong day for the Wizards.
Expect a lot more coverage in the upcoming days.
