I very much enjoyed seeing so many former Sooner players return to the LNC on Saturday for the reunion. It made me stop and think about so many of the Sooner greats that have laid the foundation for making the program what it has become today. Sometimes I think it is important to take a second and realize how fortunate we are to be fans of a program with the tradition of the University of Oklahoma. We may not have tradition on par with Kansas, but we do have a lot to be proud of in the sport of basketball. It seperates us from many of our fellow Big 12 basketball programs that have been/are experiencing success like Baylor and Texas A&M.

I also want to say how glad I am that Jeff Capel and his staff put in effort to reach out to former Sooner hoops stars and try to get them to come back and remain a part of the program. I hope that continues to be the case in the upcoming seasons. One guy that I would love to see come back is Mookie Blaylock.

I remember being at the game when they retired Mookie's jersey several years ago. That was when Kelvin was still here. I have to be honest Mookie looked less than thrilled to be there. But I think that could be because he doesn't like a lot of attention placed on himself.

Good points.

It's just too bad that all the players who fought every day for 2-4 years to make this program what it was got to see how far it's fallen in the past few years. This year has certainly shown how quickly you can go from the penthouse to the outhouse.

?

past few years? where have you been?

Last year was a great year, and the year before that was OK, but this season and 3 seasons ago are 2 of the worst teams since the 80/81 club. Worst 2 years out of a 4 year period since the late 60's. That's pretty bad.

Can people stop refrencing Capel's first year. There is no way you can hold that against him. No one was going to do more in that situation. If you want to complain about this season, fine, but stop using a year where we had suffered ncaa sanctions and lost most of our recruits just to make it look like Capel's a bust.

This years team is mind-boggling...but Capels first year was a success IMO with all that the team suffered during a coaching change, allegations and recruits bailing...amazing we had a winning record that year

That's the same way the Aggies figure their statistics.

"We've won 2 out of the last 10!"

You've won 2 out of the last 25, too. So what?

(Statistics are approximate.)

I'm willing to concede his first year was pretty good considering all the off the court stuff out of his control.

Personally, I thought his 2nd year was a disappointment. Too many 30 point losses and double-digit losses that year to count it as a good year, but they won a game in the NCAA tourney which everybody remembers more (than the multiple blowout losses).

Was there a need to post more of your negative crap in this thread? Good lord.
