Several years ago someone wrote to Tramel asking who had the better basketball program between OU and OSU, citing various statistics which supported the opinion that OU had the better program. As I recall Tramel said the deciding factor for him was NCAA tournament wins. At the time OSU had a few more so he gave the edge to them. I wonder if he has changed his opinion now that OU has more wins.

With this, its fifth Final Four appearance, OU is also tied for 13th in trips to the semis. Hard to argue that we're not a top - tier basketball program if you're trying to isolate the best 10-15 based on numbers and history.
