I wonder if the reason they sent SC to Sioux Falls (instead of Notre Dame) was to allow Kentucky to "host" the Lexington regional - at least partly with attendance an issue?

Sioux Falls is as close to ND as Lexington, so they could have gone there with no issues. Were SC and Kentucky barred (as fellow conference members) from meeting as soon as they could have if both were in Lexington?

SC is a #1. Kentucky is a #3. They would not have met until the Elite 8. That is acceptable by all past precedence and rules. All re-matches are avoided if possible until the Elite 8, especially conference re-matches.

I believe the rule being used this year was to not allow two teams from the same conference in the same regional with seeds 1-4. That is why the PAC teams were spread out:

Dallas: 2 OSU
Sioux Falls: 2 ASU
Bridgeport: 3 UCLA
Lexington: 4 Stanford

UK was given regionals for the next 3 years. No way the home school won't be seeded there if they qualify.

I did not realize the regionals were already assigned that far ahead. Do you know where the other regionals will be over that time span?

Nothing wrong with being confident and the fact that I'm only 15 mins from the arena is an added bonus! We are gonna be loaded next year and UCONN won't have Stewie so its really anybody's title to grab. I just think we have a better shot. We will be undefeated going into the Final Four. Who knows with enough games scheduled it could be another 40-0!!!

I realize that is the goal of the 2nd and 3rd tier athletic programs, but at OU our goal is always a National Championship.
