It is not on the internet, even on the radio. It isn't likely to be televised in Texas. There are, supposedly, live stats.

I look for Kay Kay, Peyton, Maddie, Sharane, and Gabi to start, although Nicole and Gioya may get the nods. We will probably see a lot of bench against Southeastern.

Who do you see Nicole and Gioya replacing, if they were to start? Gabi and Maddie? Probably not, because Gioya doesn't play point does she?

I wonder if Sherri will start Gabi immediately.

I notice that the game is on 751 on U-Verse in Dallas, with the Volleyball game on 754 at the same time. I'll tape both.

According to DirecTV in Moore, Ok the game will be on channel 676-5.

You're right, blue. DirecTV will air the game on Fox Sports Oklahoma (676-5). However, I'm not sure if that channel is available to DirecTV customers outside of Oklahoma. I would imagine that it will also be available on Dish Network (in Oklahoma, at least).

Can't wait to get a look at our freshmen, as well as the players that sat out last season due to injury/transfer rule.

The score is a foregone conclusion. I'm not too concerned with how we look on offense this early in the year, we're still going to win. What I am really interested in seeing is our players get in the faces of offensive players and make them wish the ball had never been passed to them. I want to see good help defense and players flying around on defense like our hair is on fire. But as importantly as anything I want to see us going after every rebound like their life depends on it.

I don't think Gabi will start from how she looked in the intersquad scrimmage-but maybe she looked better in practice. I would start T Williams and give Gabi lots of playing time to get comfortable, and to develop with less pressure.
And will she limit Maddie's playing time, to let her get back in the basketball groove, and completely confident in her health? That is also something I would do, starting Nicole instead. IMO only

I assume you meant T. Edwards (forgive me if I'm forgetting someone).

I didn't get to watch the scrimmage; so did Gabi not play well? Of course it's not unusual for a sophomore with Edwards' experience at the point to start over a freshman.

I could easily see Maddie at the point with Kornet at forward for the first game, or Maddie at forward and Gioya at a guard.

I would be surprised if T'Ona gets the start. Although she is a solid replacement, if she has learned to shoot, she is not one who projects to be a starter. I thought Sherri was still lamenting that Edwards couldn't hit layups, indicating that guards had to hit layups and free throws.

With Shaya and Gileysa out with injuries, I suspect that we will focus on:

Kay Kay
Peyton
Maddie
Nicole
Gabi
Gioya
Sharane
and Treece, only because ViVi may still be somewhat limited. I don't know that we see T'Ona, LaNeisa, and Derica as starting material. Could be wrong.

Yes I did mean Edwards. Gabi did not look bad, but she was not assertive, either in passing, or looking for her shot. Other players (Gioya, Derica, Maddie, T'ona, Peyton) were much more aggressive pushing the ball and looking for assists. Gabi did look less passive as the scrimmage progressed, but I thought she needed more time to get comfortable being the Point Guard in Charge.

I think Kay Kay, Sharane, and Peyton will be starters almost all the time. T'ona early as a ball handler with more experience at point. Nicole, Maddie, Gioya, Gabi, and Derica all
pushing for playing time/starts, and Treece now and Vivi later getting lots of back-up playing time at center. LaNeisa very athletic but not yet ready to outdo the competition.
But that is based on ONE scrimmage, and not any practice time. Lots we haven't seen in the practice gym.

Gabbi, Little, Campbell, Nicole, and Williams is my pick, but Manning could start over Gabbi at the point.

Sherri's post game comments were that she would probably use different starting combinations early on until some kids rise to the top. I think tonight the starters will probably be Maddie, Peyton, Sharane, Kaylon, and either T'ona or Nicole. I'm not too worried about Maddie's minutes for this game, I look for every one to get valuable looks during the scrimage.

If Sherri thinks Gabbi will be the starting PG by conference time, she should start every game now and play at least 30 minutes. If she doesn't think she will start, I would not start her.

We have one returning starter. We have about six who should contend for the other four positions, maybe seven if Kay Kay doesn't grow up. I think that Sherri will be looking to see who can play in what roles. I think she made up her mind on Maddie two years ago. I suspect that she has made up her mind on Gabi during the recruitment. She has always loved Peyton. But, you do need more than just starters.

Yes, indeedy. Times two.

From the stats, with 11:30 gone, everyone who is not injured has played but Kornett and Ritchie.
edit: looks like while I was typing my post Kornett came in

2nd edit: I forgot L. Williams......lst half almost over and I see she has played...not following so do not know when she came in
