1. Peyton and Ortiz continue to improve their production and consistency.

2. Gioya - ignore the foul trouble. Continues to show her elite athleticism which is driving her scoring ability on just about anyone.

3. Kaylon - foul trouble is tough. But against UT's front line she played tough.

4. Vivi - Wow. She's moving so much better than she did in November. Her potential ceiling, best post since CP?

5. Manning - Coming off two knee injuries with limited playing time, it's been hard to know if Manning would ever come back or how long would it take.
Last night, we got a clearer picture that we might yet see the pre injury Manning. Still a long path. Don't expect this every night, but hopefully the flashes of play outnumber the DNPs.

6. Use of the bench. The rotation is getting tighter, better chemistry. However, Sherri's still using her bench very effectively. Finding that one or two hot hands to help out.

Two small negatives.

1. Kornet struggled again.
2. Campbell still struggling to find her shot/score.

I have been a critic of Sherri's use of her bench and she is doing better this year. Having this many good players helps.

However when I see Little with 39 minutes and Gabbi with 37 I think they need a little more rest. We got away with it mostly because Texas was not playing much uptempo but I would like to see a regular rotation of Maddie, L Williams and Kornet spelling the four guards with enough time to let them feel the flow of the game.

I think part of Kornet's problem is sporadic playing time. Also if you get 5 minutes in the first half and none in the second half and the next game you get 20 and the next none at all you have a really hard time getting a feel for the game. I'm exaggerating a bit but you get the picture.

LaNesia got 13 minutes against Texas most of it in the first half. I think they play better if they know when they are going in and who they will likely be playing with. Treece got only 3 minutes after playing ahead of ViVi lately. I do think ViVi was more effective than Treece against Texas but you don't have much time to show anything in 3 minutes.

Excellent points!

I tend to agree with what Sherri did. I think LaNesia and Kay Kay were a bit out of control early. Some balls were thrown at the backboard in their heightened excitement. They weren't playing within themselves. LaNesia made some really bad moves on passes, not realizing that Sanders could intercept her telegraphed pass.

I think Sherri saw quickly who had the right mindset to compete against the Texas team that showed up. We saw very little of some people who have been doing pretty well. But, Texas is different.

Peyton, Maddie, Sharane, Gioya, and Gabbi had the right mindset to play. Texas didn't intimidate them. Gioya didn't last long. But, I thought that LaNesia needed to sit and watch. We couldn't afford what she was doing. She may be all right for TCU. She played thirteen minutes with 1 of five from the field, a rebound, and a turnover. That's not a lot for 13 minutes.
