Texas 2013 top players

I believe Kendall Harris is Terrell Harris' little brother.

Randle is the best player in the country, I just hope he goes east if we don't hit the lottery with him.

Kendal Harris is indeed Terrell's brother. I've been watching him since the 4th grade. He's been tearing it up this summer with DFW elite, but has been under the 2013 radar due to Randle and Frazier. Oklahoma's 2013 class is pretty good as well, but nowhere near Texas.

I believe Jordan Hamilton's little brother is a big time recruit in Texas as well in either 2013 or 2014.

Hey Hohum I wouldn't be too excited about the OSU affiliation. Hasn't been working that good as of late. Lucas, Nash, Pittman, Griffins,........

Oh, I'm not. But I know for a fact Harris really likes Ford and OSU, which I don't know for sure about Eaton. I know Eaton's mother really didn't like Sean, and had he stuck around OSU would have pretty much zero chance at Nash.

Harris hasn't gotten alot of pub. That's suprising due to his brother and his father being prominent in the Texas aau scene.

Kendal plays for the Dallas Mustangs and has for a number of years - not DFW Elite. He played for Eric and Bill with DFW Elite for a few years when he was younger. Dallas Mustangs - Booker is typically how the team he plays on currently is listed. They play up 90% of the time against 16's and 17's. As an example, they are playing in the top NBA division at this weekend's Great American Shootout.

There are a number of top 2013 prospects on that Mustangs team. Jordan Mickey, Shirmaine Thomas, and Marcus Foster to name a few. Jordan plays with Kendal at Berkner. Shirmaine plays at Skyline alongside another top 2013, Devante Kincade who plays for DFW Elite. Marcus plays for Wichita Falls Hirschi.

Kendal is not the same kind of player that Terrell was. Kendal will end up more skilled when he graduates, but likely with less height and length. He's an outstanding football player as well. I wouldn't be surprised if that's not the direction he ultimately chooses.

There are many top 2013 prospects in Dallas. There are also very strong indications that move-ins will impact this class next season. Isaac Hamilton is the younger brother of Jordan and has played some with Team Texas this season. He might be playing with Isaiah Austin and company this year at Arlington Grace Prep. That program might also be getting the services of another top 2013 - Ishmael Wainright out of Kansas City. DFW is already loaded in this class. This would only further cement that fact.

Houston has the Harrison twins and Derrick Griffin. All three of those players are top 10 players in the state.

Here my list of the top 10 players in the state based on where they are today, and to a lesser degree, where they have the potential to end up. At this age, much will change over the next 2+ years - height, strength, skills, maturity, etc.

1. Julius Randle
2. Andrew Harrison
3. Derrick Griffin
4. Aaron Harrison
5. Nathan Hawkins
6. Matt Jones
7. Kendal Harris
8. Keith Frazier
9. Marquan Botley
10. Kyle Wilson

If the move-in's noted above come, they would be in top 10 immediately.

Wichita Hirschi is coached by a guy from Oklahoma.

is wainright moving to dfw? i hadn't heard that. it'd be a blow to kc area hoops, which is currently enjoying about as good a group of recruits as i can recall.

There is definitely some steam behind it. But when you've been around this game as long as I have, you learn to take things with a grain of salt. I also live by the credo: I'll believe it when I see it.

That said, I do have it on good authority; so I'd gauge it at around a 50% chance of happening right now. Will know much more as the summer wraps up and school approaches.

thanks, soonerdaze. it'll be interesting to watch.

Oklahoma Hawks Elite playing Texas Titans for a chance to go to AAU nationals. Should be a real good one. Last time they hooked up it was real competitive.

Word I got, it was around a 15 point win for the Titans who are playing for the championship today. Hawks Elite are now playing for third. Julius twisted an ankle in the first game and has played below his norm; however, Matt Jones and Marquan Botley have stepped up big.

Mickey Mitchell, class of 2015 who plays for the Titans 13u team, is playing up and has played very well getting to the basket almost at will and has had a number of nice dunks! This is an EARLY heads up to the OUHoops board...keep an eye and ear out for that name.

BTW, sat near Capel yesterday. He was watching TA Pistons, Team Texas, and Dallas Mustangs games when I saw him.
