The Write Space and Time: As Good as it Gets

I know some people would disagree, but the thought crossed my mind as I read that piece that Geno and Sherri may be the two coaches most satisfied with their seasons this year.

As a writer myself, I have to admire Coach Coale's prose and writing ability.

Stringing words together like that, regardless of the topic, is a talent and an art combined. A lot of people can master the art. Most do not have the talent.

As for the topic...well done. What makes the end of a journey so sweet is the getting there and what you discover along the way.

I would add Walz. He has to be thrilled!

Yep. The difference between Sherri and the other two is that as thrilled as she is about the growth, perseverance and accomplishments of her team, she doesn't ever want to have to go through another year like this again.

You know, just when the season is over, the horn sounds, and its another six months before we get a glimpse of the next edition of our Sooners. All through the frustration, and the postings we do on the board, OUR coach writes this. I am so glad she is our coach and at this space and time, every thing is all right in my little insignificant world. Excellent post Coach Coale, just excellent :clap

We all got here to this remarkable place painstakingly, one scary, tough decision at a time. We are here because when we came to a chasm, Jas jumped and we all crawled across her back to the other side. And we are here because when the swamp threatened our progress, Jo dove in and pulled us one by one to dry ground. We are here because when the sun of the desert scorched us and there seemed to be no cover anywhere, Vegas would make it rain. And we stand here, a changed-for-the-better collection of ordinary people who became extraordinary together because four guys who would give anything to play but couldn't, kept holding the needle steady for us to see.

I cried at the beauty and the message of this paragraph.

I wish she'd blog more often, but I understand that this season probably required a lot more of her time than other seasons.
